The scraper blade cracked the firs time I used it. Broke off completely the second. 2 Years later and I still can't get a replacement. I now have a snow blower I can't use.

Lack of parts availability is unforgiveable.

I got this at the end of last winter needing to use it only a single time in some light snow after I got it. This year we finally got a snow so I got this snowblower out. Unlike a traditional snow blower there was nothing to service, I simply plugged it in and started blowing snow from the driveway. I was very happy about that. Unfortunately I didn't get to finishing using the blower as it injested a piece of ice from the snow plows that had gone by on the road. This cracked the thin steel of the auger rendering it unusuable. Normally, I'd have some choice words and would order the replacement part. Not with Snow Joe. Apparently parts are not a concern as according to reviews I've seen in researching both on this site and elsewhere, several parts haven't been available for YEARS. Not weeks or months.... YEARS! Looking at the parts for this model today there are way more parts that are out of stock than in stock. So, it appears that I've wasted my money and learned an expensive lesson. I'll be avoiding this brand in the future.

I'm on my 3rd winter with the SJ627E; and up until now, it's been a solid performer. It handles just about every type of snow that you can throw at it. It's weakness is packing snow and slush. While it can tackle packing snow, the chute tends to get blocked with snow more frequently than I'd like (every single stage electric snow blower suffers from that problem). When dealing with slush, it can clear that too, but it doesn't throw as far as snow (same with all single stage snow blowers).
I can confirm that the SJ627E made clearing even deep snow (15 inches) a much easier job than were I to shovel it. Since this unit wasn't designed for snow that deep, you can't just plough through it. It takes a technique that requires you to step forward and back a few times, before you can continue clearing more snow ahead.
The one thing that prevents me from giving it a 5 star rating is the fact that there appear to be some parts (aside from the auger) are designed to wear after about 3 years. They're user replaceable parts, but only if you can get them. The puller and belt both seem to be permanently out of stock. If they ever do get back in stock, I'll be getting more than one of each!

Blower Fine, IMPOSSIBLE to Obtain Replacement Part
on October 25, 2023

So disappointed. This is a decent blower for its type (corded electric) and price, however after the plastic scraper bar broke during normal use in its first season (winter 2022-23), I've searched high and low for a replacement. Cannot even find an aftermarket replacement. In looking at reviews at the replacement part (SJ627E-SCRPBLD) on this very website, this part has been unavailable for several years. I did see that a store in Canada offers the part (same machine specs but under a different brand name) but does not ship to US and sadly I do not know anyone in Canada who could buy it at this chain of stores and ship to me. The blower "works" without the scraper blade but not as effective, you will still have to shovel some. With the scraper blade it does a really good job. C'mon Snow Joe, get this part manufactured and available in the US already!

Parts are impossible to replace

The blower was actually not bad while it worked. Had it for 2 months, while clearing some thick snow, it hits an uneven pavement and the auger broke.
It's been a year, the part is not available. If you buy it and it breaks, it's game over.

Warranty???

I used this snowblower about 8 times this winter. The first 7 times I was impressed with it. As you would expect it is not as powerful as a gas snowblower but it is much better than shoveling. It requires a little bit of effort to push but no big deal. Unfortunatley the last time I used the snowblower it starting shaking violently because the auger broke. The broken auger caused damage to the scrape bar at the bottom.
Back when i purchased the blower I took the time to register my snowblower/warranty with Snowjoe in case anything happened. What a joke the 'warranty' is. I was expecting them to send me a new snowblower. I was told by Snowjoe that the auger is considered wear and tear. I used the snowblower about 8 times.... wear and tear??? If I had purchased a snowblower from a store and it broke in less than a year I could just take it back and get a new one... but with snowjoe there really is no warranty and the product is garbage. If Snowjoe leaves one of those canned messages that they are sorry and I should contact them...I have already contacted them.
They are sending me an auger, not a snowblower. Thanks!
