I had expected the machine to be painted or powder coated stainless steel, instead it is plastic, since the price was higher. I believe that the silver one may be all stainless, (ask before ordering). Other than that, it works very well.

For the price point as a beginner in making espresso. This really is a decent machine. It gives me everything I need to make a decent brew. It can seem daunting at first. If you read the directions. Everything is explained for even the most novice beginners. The machine really does do all the work. You just have to find your preferences.
