While this unit lacks fine tuning controls for parameters like temperature, pull time, and pressure, it more than makes up for that by pulling consistent shots at an incredible cost. The unit is also compact, taking up less counter space than most standard drip-brew machines. The pump is a little loud and vibrations can be intense at times. This machine is a great option for those with limited counter space and for anyone looking to experience home-brewed espresso for the first time.

Using for double-espressos twice a day, I am very happy with the product. Needed to lower the water amount (great feature!) to get the strength I like. Lights indicate ready by the time the coffee is ground; combo measure / tamper works great (using 2T for the double). Love the auto turn-off, and that the coffee filter can be removed immediately or left in place. Frother works great. So the equipment is gorgeous, fits my coffee needs perfectly, and cost was SO reasonable. After using moka stovetop devices for 20 years, now drinking less coffee and enjoying it more. Caveats other might consider: If serving multiple people, and using the frother a lot, the number of steps (preheating to get extra hot coffee, having to lower unit temp after frothing) would slow servings down.

I LOVE my Casabrews CM5418! I’ve had many different espresso machines over the years, but none compare to my new Casabrews. I love it’s small profile, it’s ease of use(it only has 4 buttons) and that it doesn’t make a lot of beeping noises like many other machines. It truly makes a great espresso Crema. It also makes beautiful Steamed milk for my lattes. I love the large water reservoir it has for such a small machine. For the price of the machine and the quality of the espresso and steamed milk it makes, it truly is a gem!
