Quiet Comfort Ultra Ear buds do not disappoint

Consistently Bose exceeds my high expectations. I have the quiet comfort series since its inception. I use them for personal enjoyment and video production where I am frequently in the same room as the event. The ultras noise cancelling yields almost complete isolation from the room while enabling me to hear all the nuances of sound for the optimal in situ segregated streaming mix.
Just this week I was at a conference and had to send some emails. The room chatter was distracting. I popped in the ultras with no music and the chatter instantly faded away.
The redesigned case from the original quiet comforts has more pocket appeal as it is flatter and doesn’t feel as bulky. The sound quality does seem superior as the noise cancelling certainly is superior to previous models.
The original quiet comfort earbuds rested comfortable all day without ear fatigue and these are a bit lighter feeling and simply seem to disappear into the unnoticeable after being placed in the ear. I have worn them all day without any discomfort.
When folks ask me about them, I ask what their favorite song is. I then challenge them, put these on and see if you don’t hear things you have not heard before in the song. Every time they hear things that hadn’t before.
As for the controls on the earbuds, I don’t typically use them so I have no review of those. It’s not because they are difficult, just I tend to like to control them from my iPhone and the iPhone app.
If you want to “hear what others can’t” get these earbuds.

Great for Customized Listening

These are great at cutting down on external noise. They seal around the inside of my ears way better than the others pro earbuds I replaced. Nice to have an EQ to customize your listening. I think these earbuds are better than my QC35 headphones at cancelling noise., which are very good. The various listening modes offer great choices depending on what you’re listening to. I listen to a lot of audio books, some full cast recordings are difficult to understand due to the recording levels used by the producer of the book. These earbuds make it possible to tune the sound to suit the listener.

Better quality, comfortable, great noise canceling

Got these as a product replacement for the QCII buds, which had all sorts of connectivity bugs. These are a step up, sound is good as well as build quality, and very comfortable even during long flights. Still some bugs where one bud or the other doesn't sync up right on startup when you take them out of the case, and my Garmin watch keeps dropping out when playing music from it while working out, too.

Great Sound, Touchy Controls

Once I got the right inserts installed I really like these with one exception. The touch controls are too “touchy”. I’ve yet been able to adjust the volume without instead either pausing what’s playing or changing the noise cancelling mode.
