The quiet mode on these are way better than my AirPods. I am a runner and these stay in my ear with no problems. I love the aware mode. Overall great product
The capability of choosing between the 3 different modes is incredible. In the Aware mode, I loved the fact that I can still be aware of my surroundings while listening to the music in the background without losing any of the music quality. This was particularly useful when being outdoors, running or just walking.
The Emergent Mode is by far the best audio mode. It makes the audio tracks so real and up-close and it provides the perfect and most-wholesome accoustic, especially when I'm cycling or running.
I'm overly impressed by the earbuds themselves. They are comfy, super light and small but yet noticeable enough to not get lost. They fit really nicely and snuggly in my ear and not tight at all. I don't feel they were weighing down on my ears even after a long time wearing them.
It just took me hours to figure the different touch controls on the earbuds. That was a bit challenging.
The phone calling audio and mic quality while taking calls is impressive and smooth.
The Bluetooth connectivity between my phone and the earbuds connects effortlessly unlike previous products, where I have had a bit more trouble connecting and had to go back and forth from the settings to fiddle with it.
Noticed a couple of times that the music would suddenly stop briefly but I'm not sure if this a streaming music or an issue with the Bluetooth connection.
Also, it would be nice to have the feature to locate the earbuds if I ever misplace them as this seems to be the case with me a lot of times :-)
I found it challenging at times to change tracks using the touch controls on the earbuds. Still getting used to these, and there is not good information about these either.

Had high expectations when I got the Ultras since I already own the sport earbuds which I love to run with and take everywhere. A much sleeker design and profile right out of the box versus the sport buds which protruded from my ears. Initial setup using the Bose Audio app was quick. I went straight for the Immersive Audio experience and it was a game changer!! The sound quality is crisp, clear and I feel like I’m enveloped in the music! Although there are 2 Immersive options, I can see myself sticking with Motion which kinda felt like it was moving and adjusting as I was moving…if that makes sense. You have to try it to really understand.
Control features slightly changed from the sport buds but simpler (on/off requires just 1 tap vs 2). I accidentally turned it offand I can hit either bud w/ multiple taps to move tracks (whereas I could only hit the left on the buds). Maybe it’s just me and a byproduct of the noise cancelling feature but it seemed each tap of the earbud was amplified as a popping sound in my ear which was slightly noticeable.
Love the different preset modes to align with the mood and preference. I already created a custom mode for running so I’m able to adjust the noise cancellation level to my liking while being able to enjoy the immersive audio.
The longest I’ve used the Ultras in my ear was about 90 mins I’m one sitting without any discomfort. Noise cancelling feature works well to help drown out background noise while listening to tunes during work hours. I’ve even taken some work calls without any negative comments on disruptive background noise. I’ve taken rhe Ultras on 2 runs so far and the improved sound quality has made it a different experience so far. Just when I thought Bose was already at the top of their game, they surpassed it with these! Couldn’t be happier with them!
Love the new upgrades! I’ve had two pairs of quietcomfort ear buds and one pair of headphones, absolutely love Bose quality & noise control for travel. Also a musician so the music quality is a must. Highly recommend!
I love these new earbuds!!!! The immersive audio upgrade is worth it alone. Immersion mode is awesome!!!!! Feels more of a concert experience when just listening to the radio! Love the “around” immersion for everything but spoken audio – I like to use the still mode for video.
For reference, I have the previous version of these, the Bose Quiet Comfort earbuds II, as well as over the ear Quiet comfort 35 II and the Noise cancelling 700s LE. I have had older versions of ear buds- that plugged in as well that are still going strong.
The are similar in size to the Quiet Comfort II and they both fit in each others' charging cases. Pics attached.
While I absolutely LOVE these new ear buds, here are a few not so lovely things to be transparent: I have never gone for a lighter color before and the sandstone color gets really dirty if you wear makeup so lesson learned. Trouble pairing – made me remove all other Bose products I had which was a pain (other earbuds and 2 over the ear headphones) - I included an image of one of the errors I received. Still cannot pair multiple devices so still continue to use Jabra active elite 75t for work so I can switch from my computer to my phone seamlessly throughout the day…PLEASE FIGURE THIS OUT! Also, just having them paired to multiple devices would be appreciated so I don't have to unpair just to pair to another device (would love to have it paired to iPad and iPhone even though not suing them at the same time) When listening to music, had a weird “blips” a few times. It didn’t cut out it was just a weird pause like it was disconnecting/reconnecting but it only happened once so maybe there was a update.
I really feel that the immersive audio is worth the upgrade alone but feel that the noise cancelling is better as well. I will continue to use Bose products as I don't think their sound can be beat and love how I can customize the fit for my small ears using the smallest sizes of eartips and stability bands (3 different sizes of each are included. I would like for them to figure out a few items though, the multiple pairing being the most significant.
I was a little hesitant as to whether I needed the QC Ultra earbuds, I recently purchased the QC 2 earbuds and they work well and are perfectly adequate. I'm so glad I decided to get these, they're a game changer for me. The Immersion mode is outstanding! Typically when wearing earbuds, the sound is concentrated right between my ears and it gives me a headache after just a short time, the immersion mode with the QC Ultra solves that. The sound seems to be all around me and actually moves with me - it's truly amazing . I'm able to wear these for hours without a headache.
I work in a busy office and it's sometimes difficult to concentrate with everything going on around me, with these I'm able to set a mode specific to my work requirement, I've set the mode to immersive and noise cancellation to approximately 70% - I can still hear someone if they speak directly to me, but I don't have the constant chatter. I use these when exercising, when talking on the phone, for music (love 70's and 80's rock), and when listening to audio books (the sound effect in Dune are very cool).
The controls and the app are very easy to set up and to use. I have only had one issue with the QC Ultras, but nothing that I felt was a major detractor. Frequently, after putting the QC Ultras back in the charging case, they don't disconnect. This causes issues when I later try to take a call or listen to something using my phone audio; i have to go into my phone settings to manually disconnect from the earbuds. The battery life is adequate, but could be better. I get about 3 hours on a full charge and the case will give me a couple more full charges, it's not the "up to" 6 hours, but is okay. Overall, I'm very happy with these earbuds!

Hi, we are glad to hear you have had a great experience with your earbuds.
It is surprising to hear that the earbuds are not powering off when they are in the case. Please reach out to our customer support team who would be able to help you! https://bose.life/3nTDo5H
I am certain that once they power off in the case, the battery life will last longer!
I've been using Bose QC Ultra Earbuds for about two weeks.
Let's start from the pros:
I am a musician who plays classical, gospel and pop musics on piano. When I choose a headphones or earbuds, sound quality, balance of treble and bass are what I look for. Bose QC Ultra Earbuds exceeds my expectation on these, especially sound quality and bass performance.
Nose cancellation "immersion" isolates noise very well. It brings tranquility in noisy condition such as Mall, or loud conversation environments.
In terms of comfort, I tried all the ear tips and stability bands. The default M and 1 band appeared to be most comfortable to me. I can wear these earbuds for long hours without discomfort.
In terms of cons:
I like to run, and just finished my first Marathon race months ago. These earbuds are stable during the run, but I can hear some other sounds when I run. I am not sure if it's wind, or my body's sounds transmitted to my ear. It sounds a little strange.
For the earbuds touch control (or shortcut), firstly, it is too sensitive. If I accidentally touches one earbud, the music stops. When I touch one earbuds to pause, or skip a song, I can hear a very loud discomfort sound, coming from touching the earbuds. In short, it's not easy for the touch control on Bose QC Ultra Earbuds.
With these, I mainly use the Ultra Earbuds in stationary condition, such as during work, virtual conference call, or in loud environments such as a coffee shop. I wouldn't use it during running. And I would use my phone to change songs, pick up phone call, and not using the touch control on the Earbuds.
I would still recommend Bose QC Earbuds because of the superior sound quality, enjoyable bass sound, and great noise cancellation. I did not know listening to some songs can be very enjoyable. If you are shopping for earbuds, you should try out Bose QC Ultra Earbuds.
