Silence office noise and mute the gym cacophony!
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds deliver a beyond amazing audio experience paired with thoughtful design. I previously purchased the QuietComfort ii earbuds and the Bose 700 headphones. I am very happy with those and the Ultra Earbuds take it to the next level!
AUDIO EXPERIENCE: The Ultras deliver the premium Bose audio they're known for. Plus, you can customize the audio mix in the Bose app. Quiet mode (noise cancellation) is my favorite, as referenced at the top of the review. The new immersive mode is super cool! It makes the audio feel like it's surround sound as opposed to stereo. This mode is great for live concert recordings and movies, it makes me feel like I'm there in the show.
THOUGHTFUL DESIGN: I've never worn more comfortable earbuds. After hours of use, I have gotten no soreness from my ears. The soft silicone buds are separate into two ergonomic pieces that fit naturally into your ears. I go through some intense runs while listening to music, the Ultras amazingly stay right in place.
PRO TIPS:
1. The charging case is nice because it's compact however, the hinge for the top can be fragile. Especially for clumsy people like myself. I HIGHLY recommend getting a protective case for the charging case.
2. Do you go to or perform in concerts? I do both and the Ultras have done wonders protecting my ears with the active noise cancellation.

A pair of earbuds with the strength of over-the-ear, noise-cancelling headphones. With a notable new look to the case and in-ear design, the product feels very sleek and high-tech. The audio in every setting is great, but the immersion mode really shines when working long hours at a desk. As a WFH artist, using these has been a delight and the perfect tool for deep-diving into my work. The Aware mode is perfect for moving around and still hearing what’s going on around. It took some time to understand the modes and how to switch between them, but the touch shortcuts are helpful. As can be expected, the audio connection will cut out/skip sometimes, as if recalibrating for a half second, that is to say, it isn’t 100% perfect. With the sound quality, look, and experience as wonderful as this, the imperfections feel pretty minor. I would describe the experience of listening to music with the QC Ultra Earbuds as feeling like I'm there in the studio when they recorded the song.

Great sound quality, improved over QCII

I’ve been a big fan of Bose earbuds for many years. I’ve owned wired versions and have 3 versions of quiet comfort earbuds: original QC, QCII and now the QC Ultras. I really loved the original QC version, sadly I lost the case and couldn’t purchase a replacement that works. I found the QCII had more connection issues with my iphone, and the sound quality would change while listening. Not sure why it did that, maybe it was switching between modes automatically- it was a bit annoying. The QC Ultra has a little bit of the automatic sound mode switching, but not as much as the QCIIs. The QC Ultra also connects to my phone better than the QC II. The noise canceling is scary good, I really can’t hear others talking even when in the same room. I haven’t really used the surround sound mode, I think it might be suited to gaming, but I usually listen to music and audiobooks. One thing I notice with this version is when connecting to different audio sources with my phone (audiobook, looking at a website, playing a game, or talking on the phone while doing activities on my phone), the earbuds think I’m “hanging up”, which is a bit disruptive (it makes the string instrument hang up sound). With my original QC, I could switch between listening to my audiobook, then start playing a game (which automatically stops the book) and then restart my audiobook while playing the game. With the new QC Ultras, sometimes doing that doesn’t work because the earbuds think I’m “hanging up” and I just can’t get things to reconnect. The battery case holds several charges, which is nice. I’ve only been using the earbuds for about a week and a half, I need to better adjust the fit, sometimes I feel like one side might fall out. After continuously using for 1-2 hours, my ear gets a little sore. These are really powerful earbuds and I’m very happy with them. Sadly, my true favorite was the original QC version, but these are really nice. I’m sure I’ll like them even more after adjusting the fit a little bit.

Earphoria YES!

The Bose QC Ultra Earbuds are simply an amazing piece of audio technology everyone should hear and experience, even with some minor cons.
Pros: Superior game-changing sound, Superior noise cancelling, Excellent comfort, Easy to use/great functionality.
Cons: Tap once to pause mistakenly pauses too often, Battery life does not last 6 hours on a single charge when Immersive Audio is on.
My priority list of what a good pair of earbuds must haves are: excellent sound, excellent noise cancelling, comfort and ease of use. First, the sound with Immersive Audio is unlike anything I’ve ever heard. Bose describes their Immersive Audio as “breakthrough spatialized audio” that “allows you to hear audio as if it were coming from beyond… in front and to the sides, just as if you were listening to a pair of stereo speakers and seated at the sweet spot between them.” I agree, and I describe it as if I was sitting in my own personal IMAX theater listening to the sickest technological sounds. There are three Immersive Audie modes: Off, Still and Motion. Still is where the audio seems to stay “in front of you” no matter where you turn or walk. The “front” will also adjust to your surrounding as well and is best if you are sitting and not wandering around. It’s crazy. It’s as if you were listening to a live band. Motion is always where the Immersive audio surrounds you no matter where or how much you move around and is best for when you are moving around. For now, I can’t stop switching back and forth from Still to Motion just to listen to the differences. There is an excellent equalizer to tailor your musical preferences available through the app and will remember your EQ settings no matter which device you use. The bass is extraordinary and can go even deeper with the equalizer. This is the best earbuds audio experience I’ve ever had, bar none.
Second, the QC Ultra Earbuds has superior noise cancelling technology. Noise cancelling is very important to me. I’ve returned several pairs of other brands before solely because their noise cancellation was not satisfactory. I am so impressed with the QC Ultra Earbuds noise cancellation. I was at the beach on a long walk and would normally hear dogs barking that were right beside me with other noise canceling earbuds, but with these earbuds I heard nothing but my music. I was also very happy to find out that the noise cancellation did not diminish whatsoever while in Immersive Audio mode.
These earbuds are very comfortable and have many attachments to help you achieve your maximum comfort. I recently was working on a project for six hours with the QC Ultra Earbuds in and I never once felt my ears irritated or hurt. In fact, I never even had to adjust them. They stay on and do not come off until you pull them out.
Out of the box, you can quickly connect the earbuds to your device Bluetooth without the app if you prefer. The earbud functions are very straightforward and easy to use. I have long hair and it doesn’t seem to affect the touch sensor. However, to pause is one tap on either ear. More than half the time for me when adjusting the volume or skipping forward or back, it will mistakenly pause first thinking you tapped once. Unfortunately, it happens so often it’s getting annoying. Bose should require two taps or similar for pausing. As always, they will pause automatically when you take one or both earbuds out of your ear.
A quick download of the app will give you more options for customization and is where the equalizer is located. I highly recommend downloading the app for more customization of your experience.
I must mention the battery life. The earbuds did not last six hours on one single charge. When fully 100% charged, playing music continuously, Immersive Audio switched on, the QC Ultra Earbuds lasted less than 5 hours before the low battery alert sounded with about 10% charge left. I was listening to a couple of my playlists while working on a project with my hands for almost six hours. When the low battery alert sounded at around four and a half to less than five hours, I had to stop playing music and charge the earbuds. It was disappointing that one full charge lasted less than five hours with Immersive Audio on. I do like the low battery alert it gives but the alert will continue to sound every few minutes or so before you charge them again.

Redefining the Audio Experience!

The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds offer an unparalleled auditory experience. Upon unboxing and inserting these earbuds, one is immediately met with an almost uncanny silence, prompting a moment's doubt about the state of one's surroundings. The noise cancellation feature of these earbuds essentially transforms any setting into a private concert, offering an intensely personal and immersive musical experience. As someone with smaller ears, I've often found it challenging to find earbuds that provide a good fit. However, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds have been a revelation in terms of comfort. These earbuds not only fit perfectly but also offer adjustability, ensuring that they can be tailored to individual comfort needs. One of the standout features of these earbuds is the ability to customize the level of sound. This enables users to create their own auditory environment, which is a fantastic attribute. If you seek the sensation of a live concert resonating within your mind, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds are undoubtedly the optimal choice for you!

Superior sound quality and noise cancellation

I've been using Bose QC Ultra Earbuds for about two weeks.
Let's start from the pros:
I am a musician who plays classical, gospel and pop musics on piano. When I choose a headphones or earbuds, sound quality, balance of treble and bass are what I look for. Bose QC Ultra Earbuds exceeds my expectation on these, especially sound quality and bass performance.
Nose cancellation "immersion" isolates noise very well. It brings tranquility in noisy condition such as Mall, or loud conversation environments.
In terms of comfort, I tried all the ear tips and stability bands. The default M and 1 band appeared to be most comfortable to me. I can wear these earbuds for long hours without discomfort.
In terms of cons:
I like to run, and just finished my first Marathon race months ago. These earbuds are stable during the run, but I can hear some other sounds when I run. I am not sure if it's wind, or my body's sounds transmitted to my ear. It sounds a little strange.
For the earbuds touch control (or shortcut), firstly, it is too sensitive. If I accidentally touches one earbud, the music stops. When I touch one earbuds to pause, or skip a song, I can hear a very loud discomfort sound, coming from touching the earbuds. In short, it's not easy for the touch control on Bose QC Ultra Earbuds.
With these, I mainly use the Ultra Earbuds in stationary condition, such as during work, virtual conference call, or in loud environments such as a coffee shop. I wouldn't use it during running. And I would use my phone to change songs, pick up phone call, and not using the touch control on the Earbuds.
I would still recommend Bose QC Earbuds because of the superior sound quality, enjoyable bass sound, and great noise cancellation. I did not know listening to some songs can be very enjoyable. If you are shopping for earbuds, you should try out Bose QC Ultra Earbuds.

Immersive Audio is amazing!!!

I was a little hesitant as to whether I needed the QC Ultra earbuds, I recently purchased the QC 2 earbuds and they work well and are perfectly adequate. I'm so glad I decided to get these, they're a game changer for me. The Immersion mode is outstanding! Typically when wearing earbuds, the sound is concentrated right between my ears and it gives me a headache after just a short time, the immersion mode with the QC Ultra solves that. The sound seems to be all around me and actually moves with me - it's truly amazing . I'm able to wear these for hours without a headache.
I work in a busy office and it's sometimes difficult to concentrate with everything going on around me, with these I'm able to set a mode specific to my work requirement, I've set the mode to immersive and noise cancellation to approximately 70% - I can still hear someone if they speak directly to me, but I don't have the constant chatter. I use these when exercising, when talking on the phone, for music (love 70's and 80's rock), and when listening to audio books (the sound effect in Dune are very cool).
The controls and the app are very easy to set up and to use. I have only had one issue with the QC Ultras, but nothing that I felt was a major detractor. Frequently, after putting the QC Ultras back in the charging case, they don't disconnect. This causes issues when I later try to take a call or listen to something using my phone audio; i have to go into my phone settings to manually disconnect from the earbuds. The battery life is adequate, but could be better. I get about 3 hours on a full charge and the case will give me a couple more full charges, it's not the "up to" 6 hours, but is okay. Overall, I'm very happy with these earbuds!

Hi, we are glad to hear you have had a great experience with your earbuds.

It is surprising to hear that the earbuds are not powering off when they are in the case. Please reach out to our customer support team who would be able to help you! https://bose.life/3nTDo5H

I am certain that once they power off in the case, the battery life will last longer!

The immersive audio is a great upgrade

I love these new earbuds!!!! The immersive audio upgrade is worth it alone. Immersion mode is awesome!!!!! Feels more of a concert experience when just listening to the radio! Love the “around” immersion for everything but spoken audio – I like to use the still mode for video.
For reference, I have the previous version of these, the Bose Quiet Comfort earbuds II, as well as over the ear Quiet comfort 35 II and the Noise cancelling 700s LE. I have had older versions of ear buds- that plugged in as well that are still going strong.
The are similar in size to the Quiet Comfort II and they both fit in each others' charging cases. Pics attached.
While I absolutely LOVE these new ear buds, here are a few not so lovely things to be transparent:
I have never gone for a lighter color before and the sandstone color gets really dirty if you wear makeup so lesson learned.
Trouble pairing – made me remove all other Bose products I had which was a pain (other earbuds and 2 over the ear headphones) - I included an image of one of the errors I received.
Still cannot pair multiple devices so still continue to use Jabra active elite 75t for work so I can switch from my computer to my phone seamlessly throughout the day…PLEASE FIGURE THIS OUT! Also, just having them paired to multiple devices would be appreciated so I don't have to unpair just to pair to another device (would love to have it paired to iPad and iPhone even though not suing them at the same time)
When listening to music, had a weird “blips” a few times. It didn’t cut out it was just a weird pause like it was disconnecting/reconnecting but it only happened once so maybe there was a update.
I really feel that the immersive audio is worth the upgrade alone but feel that the noise cancelling is better as well. I will continue to use Bose products as I don't think their sound can be beat and love how I can customize the fit for my small ears using the smallest sizes of eartips and stability bands (3 different sizes of each are included. I would like for them to figure out a few items though, the multiple pairing being the most significant.
Definitely recommend upgrading to these today!!!
