Great for music, but don't work for me for phone calls. Even at max I couldn't hear when there were some noises around me.

Thanks for your review. The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds utilize both passive and active noise reduction technologies. Passive noise reduction is similar to when you wear earplugs; there is a physical blockage preventing some sound from entering your ear. This is achieved through the earbud design with materials such as silicone eartips, and the acoustic seal created by having a proper fit. For active noise cancellation, your earbuds use sophisticated proprietary electronics with microphones both inside and outside the earbuds. The electronics system senses the sound in almost any environment and then measures, compares and reacts – instant by instant – to produce an opposing cancellation signal.
Had this about 3 weeks. Very difficult to know when it is turned off. No switch. I guess when out of ear it’s off but no instructions. It has run down when out of ear and thought it was off.
When it comes to sound, nothing can beat Bose. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the fitment of the QC ear buds. I have tried several different combinations of the tips in the fitment kit and the ear buds do not stay in my ears. I mostly wear them while working out in the gym and I no longer need to do cardio as I spend time walking around, chasing, and trying to find the ear bud that had just fallen out of my ear. They will fall out mostly when bending over or laying down. It is very frustrating when doing a set and I can feel the ear bud is ready to fall out of my ear.
Also, whenever I come into range of the ear buds, when they are not in the case, my phone will link up to them without me knowing. This has happened on a couple of occasions while I was having a phone conversation. As I walked near the ear buds, which were still in my gym bag, my phone linked up with the ear buds and I no longer could hear my phone conversation through my iPhone. I thought the call was dropped only to later find out it was because of the ear buds. How do I turn the ear buds off? I bought the ear buds to replace the Soundsport ear buds I have had for 5 years. I like the Soundsport much better as the tips were more formed to fit inside the ear, at least when an ear bud fell out of my ear I did not have to chase it around the gym floor.
I bought the QC ear buds because I love the Bose sound and noise cancellation, but if I had to do it again, I would not buy them. Too frustrating to spend this amount of money and not have the technology to keep the ear buds in the ear. As a result, I had to purchase the extra large tips, which won't be available for another 2-3 weeks, hoping this will help the issue.

I bought these a couple of weeks ago to try to be able to hear my audio books on airplanes etc.. to keep out the background noise. not sure I will keep them. They do a pretty good job of that but they continue to be uncomfortable .. I can't wear them in bed and I am used to listening to books in bed so I would like to - the bluetooth connection is hard to keep sometimes, particularly in my car. It constantly is pulled back to the car speakers or turns off.. They do charge easily and hold the charge. I am surprised at how uncomfortable they are. I have tried all 3 sizes of switchable ear fitting pieces but that does not seem to make a difference - they just don't want to seat well in my ears. they have fallen out a couple of times and that really concerns me because I can see I could lose one.. I am VERY pleased that they can be tracked by a find my Bluetooth app! Not sure about them yet.

Hi Lydia, thanks for your review of the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds! I'm happy to hear that you've been enjoying the noise cancellation while listening to your audiobooks.
I'm sorry to hear you've been having trouble finding a comfortable fit though. One thing you can always try is the alternate sizing kit, which is designed for users who have difficulty finding that perfect fit. The kit is available from our website, or via our customer support team.
It should be noted that the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds are not primarily designed for sleeping purposes. Also, the earbuds have mainly been tested for use with mobile Bluetooth devices (e.g. smartphones and tablets), rather than with in-car Bluetooth.
