[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought 2 8250s to replace my 8220s as I use the frequently to make custom ear plugs.
My 8250s are quieter have more power and are smoother running. I plan in buying 2 more in the future.

Motor failed after a handful of uses on low RPMs

I am so disappointed. My friends convinced me dremel was the best on the market so i splurged and got what i thought was a high-end rotary tool.
But it broke, after 10 or so uses, all on lowest RPMs and fairly easy jobs.
The motor seems to be completely seized up and none of the guides have a fix.
Really let down by the quality and durability of this product
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this as a garage tool for various griding and sharpening tasks. The initial task was for setting points for a TIG welding electrodes. The attachment went on just fine and I was able to grind 4 electrodes to the correct angels in about one minute each. Most of the time involved was adjusting the dust collector to the new location on the grinding attachment. The speed control is excellent and the convenience of the unit, no need to plug in, no cord to get in the way.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The tool broke

After using the 8250-5 only a few times before it started making a loud noise as if the motor had come loose in the housing.

4 months after purchasing the 8250 12v is failing. Used very little and only for polishing and light grinding. Sparks fly out of the tool on start up. Expensive tool not meeting expectations. This tool should run for a lifetime under my working conditions.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a powerhouse tool

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After getting through the unboxing which an easy operation. The tool weight was a delight to hold but I was supprised the power of this battery operated tool. My wifes sink had blocked as normal the Dremel was grabbed to make a snake to grip the hair and gunge which I knew would be deep into the sink trap. I use the tool to roughen the edge of a rod of silver steel weling rod. I had to adjust the speed as on first try, as it cut through the rod lighting fast. Slowing down enabled me to complete my quick design, and within half an hour the wife was happy with the basin. I have used it several since to carve and smooth with various bits attached. I had to recharge it for the first time today, surprised the battery power and time of use. Great tool every home should have one.

Crappy battery latches

Where should I begin 2 issues
1 your battery latches are too strong. It takes the strength of Hercules to remove the battery from the tool. Here is a suggestion take older people into consideration when designing your tools.
2 every time I use it I have to bang the tool on the bench or floor to allow the shaft lock to work. I don't know what your problems are but Dremel must have gone downhill from when I bought them years ago.
