[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this so I'd have my own rotary tool and so I could return my dad's that I was borrowing. His is not a Dremel, and I'd never used an actual Dremel brand before, so I was blown away at how much better this cordless tool was than the corded one I had borrowed. I use it to do a rough sand on 3d printed parts to remove layer lines. The previous rotary tool I used kept slowing down every time I placed it to the thing I was sanding and then took some time to speed back up. It was also fairly loud. Imagine my shock when the cordless Dremel was so much quieter and so much more powerful! It doesn't slow down, or if it does it's negligible, and recovers almost instantly after lifting from the item I'm sanding. This has made my job so very much quicker! I'm in love, and now understand why Dremel has the reputation it does and well deserves!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this as a Christmas present for my fiancé, and he absolutely loves it! He uses it often at work, and it is reliable and efficient for his trade. We are very happy with the tool and recommend it to anyone.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cordless makes it handier to use. Can now work in more places, trimming plexiglass windshield in my aircraft.
Charged her up, turned her on. She ran fine through all the speeds. Switched her off then tried turning her back on, nothing... Lights were still on but nobody was home. I had to remove the battery to reset. Tried again several times and same results. Obviously nobody checked this unit before sending her out the door.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I mostly use a rotary tool for detailed wood shaping. For years I had a Dremel 300 and used it a lot, until I wore it out. That unit was basic, but did what I needed. But this unit is so much nicer to use. It runs smoothly and quietly. The switches are much better than my old 300. When I ordered it, I was concerned that maybe it would be too large and heavy to use for extended periods of time. But that’s not the case. It is a great size. It is comfortable to hold, and I can maneuver it precisely. I love the idea of a brushless motor for the longevity it will give. There is nothing not to like - it has it all. I have no regret buying this model over some quality less expensive Dremel models. It’s worth it.
I purchased this as a garage tool for various griding and sharpening tasks. The initial task was for setting points for a TIG welding electrodes. The attachment went on just fine and I was able to grind 4 electrodes to the correct angels in about one minute each. Most of the time involved was adjusting the dust collector to the new location on the grinding attachment. The speed control is excellent and the convenience of the unit, no need to plug in, no cord to get in the way.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Dremels are surprisingly useful. Before, I would have been hard-pressed to find a need for a rotary tool. It was never top of mind as something I really needed. However, once I got it, I have found numerous handy uses:
Need that screw or nail cut off? Easy. Need to sand some hard to reach corners? Easy. Smooth out a rough edge on some metal? Easy.
And the list goes on. This Dremel is awesome. Battery lasts a long time, charges pretty quickly, and the attachments are easy to use. Can't go wrong!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was on vacation when my Dremel 8250 Cordless Rotary tool arrived, so I couldn't wait to try it out once back home. The packaging is terrific - easy to access the pieces and accessories as well storing the tool itself. My first job was almost immediate. I needed to reduce the length of a garden shepherd's hook for hanging floral baskets. In the time it would have taken me to find, plug in and unspool an extension cord, I had the 1/2 inch round bar cut and ready to put back into the ground. With the metal cutting disk and the quick connect, I was able to take the tool to the work rather than bringing the work to the tool. The battery offered more than enough power to do the job quickly. The 8250 kit made me look smarter than I am!
