It is a great combo. I use mine for business, but it would be great for home use as well. It does everything I need it to do. Quick and easy set up!

For starters, I received a notice to update firmware. Begin following instructions to do so and am asked for
password, look on back for PWD. Okay. Locate that, screenshot it, and enter. Replies "incorrect password", repeated again and again and again. No luck. So my machine does not recognize password located on machine And, no, password was never changed.

Last Brother MFC I had was sooo much better. This one has already begun squeaking when printing!

I’m sorry to hear that you are having firmware password and squeaking noise when printing issues with the Brother MFCL2820DW. I apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you. We can help with that.
NOTE: For the password, the next step would be to reset the network card. If the machine is connected wireless then after resetting the network card it would need to be connected back to your wireless network.

Great all round printer / scanner / copier

Excellent all around printer, scanner and copier, and a great price. It’s a huge upgrade over my prior HP, and much more affordable long term with the toner prices.
Everything just worked out of the box - printing from Windows, Chrome and iOS and scanning also. Automatic duplex is amazing- will halve the amount of paper we will use!

Switched from inkjet to laser printer

This was the first laser printer I've purchased for my home office, and I'm very pleased with my decision. Copies and scans have been flawless. I'm interested to see how long the toner cartridge lasts.

Printer responds immediately to commands and prints quickly and efficiently. Wireless printing works from adjacent rooms with no extra prompting.

I think it's magic

I am amazed at how intuitive it is and how fast. I tried two other printers first. One was gigantic and more than I would ever need and I couldn't figure it out. The next one had an led box that was so tiny that I coud not read it even with a magnifier. I have low vision. For some reason I thought I needed color. I do not, I finally realized that color complicated my life too much. I do wish that this direction screen was bigger with darker print, but I could read it and function when the paper ran out using a magnifier. I'm glad I didn't purchase the color one I was looking at just because it had a much bigger led screen. I almost did that so please make this one bigger. I do think this is magic, though. I really, really like it. I've used the scanning feature and the double sided feature already and both worked flawlessly and so, so fast!

This printer scans photos poorly. Wash out extreme

Very disappointed in the ability to scan photos and turn into jpegs. This printer is noticeably poorer than my last several Brother printers. Photos get washed out look and nothing I can do to help adjust any settings. Black and White copies are ok!
