Perfect for Large Appliances and Laptop Bag

This is the perfect surge protector for large appliances with "typical" plugs--I have my fridge and stove each plugged into one. I also keep one in my laptop bag--a small price to help protect an expensive Apple Powerbook!

Originally used with HDTV in guest room. When I had to add a cable box I swapped this with its 3 outlet sibling I was using for a laptop. This also works well with the laptop. It provides great protection and is very portable - easy to take along with the laptop.

Exceptional Security

I use several of these compact, single use surge proctor around my home. When I 1st moved to Central FL, lighting capital I had electrical surges in the past that have destroyed my control panels of the garage opener and the irrigation system. The repair people told me that my whole house surge proctor supplied my my electric is great for large appliances like the range, water heater and air conditioner but did noting for the basic plugged in appliance. I purchased several of these units and have not had a single failure since adding them in over 3 years ago. I have also purchased the 2 outlet units and use them throughout my home!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ideal for protecting a modern treadmill

I bought this to protect the sensitive electronics in a treadmill, which can get fried by lighting and surges. The idea device will pass enough power for the motor and will occupy little space on the wall, which describes this device perfectly. The LEDs indicate that protection is available (I assume the protection LED goes out if the device absorbs a hit). I was a little confused because the "Grounded" LED came on as a red color. The packaging offers no information about the color/meaning of this light. Red usually means "not good". I found the product manual online and a red light means the ground is good. No light means no ground. I think both lights should be green and the included documentation needs improvement. But it is a good device and seems to be unique in this category.

Too big

I have many spikecubes. I assume they are protecting my equipment as I have had no problems with surge damage. The only complaint is that the current model is large enough that it blocks the second outlet on a 2 outlet wall plate. I have an earlier model, which is actually cube-shaped, which does not block the other outlet.

Saves Me Money

I purchased the Spikecube after lightning took out my garage door opener for the second time. The power outlet is on the ceiling and the standard spike strip just did not work. The cube is the best choice for the job. It's been several years now and through all the thunder storms I have had no problems since. Its a great product.

Small but effective

I have a few of these and they are great for providing protection for small appliances, iPod chargers, coffee pots and lots more! If you have something to plug in, use one of these to safeguard them from power spikes. Living in Florida where we have lots of thunderstorms that pop up, these are great protection from power spikes.
