Within six months of purchasing several of these Spikecubes we experienced a thunderstorm with severe lightning, four of the spikecubes were fried, saving the appliances that were plug into them. They saved me untold amounts of money and aggravation. When I contacted Tripp-lite they sent me replacement spikecubes. Great product and amazing customer service. I highly recommend Tripp-lite products.

Purchased the SpikeCube for my garage door opener. As electronics market enters the garage, I wanted my new purchase to be well protected. I chose the familiar name of Tripp-Lite to protect my garage door opener. I like the small size and the green and red lights that can easily be seen. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I haven't had a power surge to verify it provides the protection I purchased it for. It is a perfect solution for my opener.

Currently using in a setup where we have a weatherproof box affixed to a telephone pole outdoors and an outlet ran into the box. There's not enough room for a full power strip and I came across this little guy and he works great.

Bought 4 of these to protect my expensive flat-screen TVs at my beach house, as utility has historically had transient surges. TRIPP-LITE products - especially ISOBAR - are great, as they very quickly highlight (via "fault" lite -- not on this model) issues with power. These SpikeCubes are great for lite-duty (e.g. low-wattage TV) protection, given the insurance and low cost. While one of my four had a manufacturing problem ("grounded" lite went out, despite ground being present on the receptacle), TRIPP-LITE quickly sent a replacement no-questions asked. So, -2 stars for 1/4 of my order being faulty, but +1 star for fantastic product support. The unusual profile of the unit might make fitting a challenge behind some TVs in tight boxes, but I had no problem fitting these into my Arlington recessed TV boxes (albeit no 2nd plug could likely fit...).
