I switched from a competitor over to Singer due to price, and versility. I have been using this machine for 2 weeks now, and I am loving it. Before it showed up I went on line to review the mannule once it came in there was only a small learning curve.

The machine was defective out of the box, the bar that the presser foot attaches to was out of alignment with the plate!!! I returned it and will try another brand.....

Timing Off From Factory

I’ve had my machine for less than two months and, while it’s features are wonderful—needle up/down, max speed adjustment setting, and the included table—on my first heavier material project I discovered the machine’s timing was off as the needle was repeatedly hitting the needle plate and stitches were skipping. I’m rediscovering sewing so I thought I had chosen the wrong needle/tension and nearly didn’t take it in for repair. I’m glad I did or I would have never known why I had to hand crank most of a tote bag project. A very frustrating start and now month long delay for repair. A poorly adjusted machine straight from the factory is not acceptable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
