This machine is easy to carry from one place to another. Very easy to switch from one presser foot to another. Very easy to thread bobbins & machine. Instruction book is easy to follow. DVD is very helpful to get started. See through bobbin cover lets you know when bobbin thread is getting low. Bobbin thread is easy to thread. Automatic needle threader is handy but not necessarily as easy as the rest of the features. It sometimes requires a couple of tries. The best part is the automatic tension feature, which takes away the guess work. Overall I am very satisfied with this machine. It brings back the fun of sewing.

I recently started quilting and needed a machine with an extension table. I also did not want to break the bank since I'm really just beginning this hobby. This machine is perfect for where I am at right now. The extension table and included hopping presser foot are perfect for free motion quilting. The auto up/down needle position is a new feature for me and it very helpful. I also like the varied speed feature and the ability to see without the foot pedal. I like all the stitch options though I have only tried out a couple. Great machine for the price!

I absolutely love this machine! I switched from a Singer 4411 HD, which I loved, to the Patchwork 7285Q for more embroidery/quilting options. It not only allows me to free-motion quilt/embroider with ease, but it does the regular sewing with excellence! I'm extremely happy with this model!

This machine is terrible!

This machine runs great and has very ice features for a while. But then the timing gets off easily and you have to take the machine bottom off and reset the timing. It is very sensitive to fabric changes and constantly breaks needles. When it is running well it is great but in the month I have owned it I have reset the timing 4 times and broken 10 needles. You can not go near a pin and need to constantly rethread to keep the tension correct. Its a good price but not worth the hassle.

I like all the built in stitches but the machine itself is cheaply made. Having a lot of problems with the bobbin. Very tempermental. Constantly getting error messages some of which are even in the manual. Found it hard to change the needle. Doesn't seem to want to fit without applying pressure. If I had paid the $459.00 (original price) I would have been returning it. I bought it for quilting but there is not enough room to roll up a decent size quilt. The light is also horrible. have to use a separate light when I do want to use the machine. Overall very disappointed.

I wanted a sewing machine that I could count on as my previous machines were frustrating with the thread tension that could eventually not be properly adjusted. This machine is very high quality for a reasonable price and has worked well for the small alternation and hemming jobs that I purchased it for although it's capable of a whole lot more. Getting a lesson on the use of the machine from Joanne Fabrics was a total bonus that got me off to a great start as my skills were a little rusty. I used to sew a lot when younger, but it's been quite a while since I had touched a sewing machine.

I selected the Patchwork, as my 32 wedding anniversary gift. I am an experienced seamstrees with 32 yrs behind me. I was looking for a machine that would not only replace but exceed my previous machine from 32 yrs ago, which was lovingly passed on to a friend. The Patchwork has far exceeded my expectations. Its smooth, quite, elegant and 'IT THREADS ITS OWN NEEDLE!' I have only owned it for 3 weeks so far, but have already sewn and altered many, many items. Thank you! Definitely will recommend this lovely machine.
