[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this machine about a couple weeks ago from SINGER® as a Sponsorship and I wanted to share my honest review as both a fashion designer and a cosplayer.
This machine has so many features and is very advanced for its price. The number of accessories included is incredible, and the variety of built in stitches really impressed me!
I used to have only a couple of decorative stitches on my Singer SM024, but with the Singer Patchwork 7285Q, I have so many options to choose from, not only for construction seams but also for decorating my costumes. I really can't wait to try so many of the beautiful designs with lurex thread, for example!

I also want to mention how easy it has been to use. It's very intuitive. This is my first computerized sewing machine, with features like a start/stop button and adjustable speed control, and I feel like I've gone from driving a manual car to an automatic! As well, this is also my first sewing machine with a top loading bobbin. I was a little intimidated by it at first, but so far, it's been a great!
At the moment, I have only completed a few simple projects, and I'm still exploring everything this machine has to offer. I'll probably come back with an updated review once I've sewn an entire costume, but so far, I truly recommend this machine!

I could immediately tell that the quality was very poor when I opened it-- everything that could be plastic was, the cords were super short, and it bigger than it needed to be but not sturdy at all. Then when I started sewing on it the stitch lengths were super inconsistent (within the same seam!) and it started to smell like burning after about 10 seconds of sewing on a thin piece of cotton at a medium speed. I ended up returning it. Awful.

I’m a beginner sewer/quilter and this machine is easy to use. Love the needle threader and top load bobbin. The one drawback and it’s a big drawback for me is it does not come with a physical manual. It is digital and very hard to read and a lot to download and print.
