I just love this machine! Beyond easy to use. Everything from winding a bobbin to threading a needle. Love the choice between foot peddle or machine control to sew.
I bought the patchwork to upgrade from my 20 year old mechanical machine and because I needed a walking foot. I'm just amazing at the features and my dealer included a couple classes on the patchwork with purchase which was essential because I never would have realized all the capabilities of this machine on my own. I absolutely love sewing on my Singer Patchwork and am currently quilting my 2nd king size quilt on it just to name a couple prejects.
I have used this machine to piece a quilt. The quarter inch foot works great for the seams. I am still getting getting used to threading this machine since it is so different than my old Singer. I also repaired a pocket on my father-in-law's shirt. It is very easy to change feet. I look forward to working more on my quilt and other projects.
I returned the first Patchwork I got. The thread guide on the top of the machine was down, into the top of the plastic. The reverse was so frustrating, the machine refused to sew after I had reversed a few stitches. The machine was very loud, I assumed that was how it was supposed to sound. And oh my goodness!, trying to use the needle threader was just not worth it. But I brought it back... because of the thread guide. JoAnn's gave me no trouble, and I am so glad I did. This machine, the same model, is so much better. It sees a beautiful stitch. It's quieter, and there is much to be improved in the needle threader, but this one does work better. The light is not great, it's led, and I expected TaDa, didn't get it. The feet don't raise very high, so it's hard to get thick things in there. However, I did make an overnight bag, with outdoor fabric, batting, and Soft and Stable, and it handled it.
I've had this machine for 2 years now and I am very happy with my purchase. I am a confident beginner and use my machine for quilting. I've pieced many quilts on it so far without problem. I have also learned to applique and this machine does well going through all 3 layers of applique. I have machine quilted a few of my projects to completion and this machine keeps up with that nicely. The throat space is somewhat small to machine quilt a large sized quilt on this machine and I've had a few difficulties with the walking foot that comes with the machine but I will still give it 5 stars. I plan on keeping and using this machine for many years to come. It is a great buy and I've never wished for additional features.
Started using it immediately. Easy to use such as thread, change stitches, and change the presser feet. Like the fact it came with so many accessories. Great machine for the money. Love it!!
This is a nice machine for the personal sewing I am doing. The variety of stitches is fun to decide which will look good on the fabric I want to work with.
