This machine is easy to use. I have a larger Singer that I really like, but it is too heavy for taking to classes and quilting away from home. I wanted another Singer because I knew it would be a natural transition. I am not at expert at sewing. I decided to learn quilting after age seventy. Singers have been good machines for me.

I have 2 sisters who are experienced quilters. I have made my own clothes for years as well as for my children and scrubs for my husband. I have also done a bit of crafty sewing. But since I retired in March 2020 (pandemic retirement), I decided to join my already retired and quilting sisters and start my own quilt. They have been great in leading me in the right direction. However, one is a hand quilter, sewing everything by hand and the other uses several different sewing machines. My mother always has a singer and loved them, but boy oh boy have they changed over the years. I did my research and read a ton of reviews and made my decision on this machine. I absolutely love this baby. It starts on a dime and stops right where I want it. And so quiet, OMG. I've only had it for a month, but am looking forward to many, many years of creative and fun sewing days ahead.
