Feed cover for 7285q machine

I bought this machine a few years ago, while its a good machine for piecing quilts & basic sewing. When quilting your quilt if you do stopping the cover over the feed dogs has to be taped down or it moves. I have sewn through a couple of these. Recently trying to quilt my quilt there is trouble moving the quilt through it, the cover plate over the feed dogs is hindering it. It would be better if you could just drop the feed dogs completely.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointing Start

I bought a Patchwork Machine 2 days ago. Everything was working fine until the machine stopped working with a C4 error. I removed the bobbin, bobbin case, and turned off/on the machine but that did not fix the problem. With further investigation, I noticed the handwheel is sticking at times. It seems a moving part inside the machine near the thread take-up is getting caught on the plastic housing. I don't know why this would happen since I was sewing light-weight cotton, did not break a needle, or have any kind of knot with my thread in the bobbin case. This is a very disappointing situation with a brand new machine.
