Great sewing machine!

I purchased this machine to use as a spare. This is an amazing machine for its price, sews very nicely, has tithe needle up/down and stitch-fix features. It sews slippery microfiber stretch fabrics without any adjustments from the factory settings. Singer titanium point needles are also very helpful for this. My high end machine for whatever reason will not accommodate these particular fabrics, taking necessary adjustments into account. This machine sews very quietly and smoothly, is quite stable. Bobbin winding took some getting used to, there could be more and longer seam guide lines, and the single LED light is barely adequate. These issues are minor for a sewing machine that has turned out to be such a remarkable bargain.

General purpose and quilting. My last Singer was 30 years old and I needed an upgrade. Not sure about the auto threader, but I like where the tension knob is located, and the quick release for the feet.

Purchase this item because of the bonus quilting feet that you had listed ie;The Patchwork 7285Q sewing machine is designed with quilting in mind. It has 100 stitches from which to choose, you can make and embellish quilts, as well as sew fashions, home decor and much more. Programmable needle up/down is a must-have for quilting, sewing appliques and even top stitching. When you select a stitch, the optimum stitch length and width are selected for you, saving time. Customize stitches to personalize projects using adjustable stitch length and stitch width, viewable on the LCD screen. You can even set the maximum sewing speed of the machine using the speed control lever - slower for free-motion quilting or faster for those long seams - you're always in control. Sew buttonholes in one easy step with consistent results every time. You can even choose from 6 different styles of buttonholes - like the basic bartack style, round end and keyhole, great for menswear and outerwear. Take off the Removable Storage Compartment to access the free arm, which makes it even easier to sew around trouser hems and cuffs, children's clothing and other smaller projects. Bonus quilting accessories are included: the Quarter Inch Foot for piecing as well as sewing other small projects, the Even Feed/Walking Foot to help keep quilt layers from shifting, the Satin Stitch Foot for sewing appliques or more dense decorative stitches, and the Darning/Embroidery Foot that allows you to do free-motion sewing like stippling, thread painting and monograms. I cant use this machine More included Accessories all I wanted was the bonus quilting feet that's why I bought this. Which was not in the box. I feel this was a bate and switch. I ended up missing out on a great deal with brothers because my Mother always believed in Singer. well I cant believe that's true any more.

Dear Upset in Florida, standard accessories should be located inside the free-arm compartment, but you Bonus Acessories are generally in the 'arch' area of your machine. So sorry if they are missing. Singer will be happy to replace them. Have you called Customer Service at 800-474-6437 or emailed them at TalktoUs@Singerco.com. Please contact us for the missing items.

This is the best sewing machine I've ever had. It's sturdy, strong and dependable. Does a beautful job. It has numerous choices for stitches when you want to add a nice touch to the edges of a quilt or any project. I JUST LOVE THIS MACHINE. I highly recommend it to anyone who sees or quilts alot and needs a good machine.

Terrible machine

Hesitates when you start out. Foot pedal receptacle being in the front broke internally soon after purchase. Supposed to be for quilting- good luck fitting a quilt in this machine! The free arm quilting attachment has a tiny metal piece that pops out continually making it impossible to use it. DON'T buy this Singer!!!

Love it!

My husband bought this machine for me when I retired because I wanted to start quilting. I love it other than I can't get the needle threader to work. I can't figure it out. There's so many presser feet I probably will never use them all. I didn't realize it came with a 1/4" foot and went out and bought another. Oh well I have two now.

I'm using this for small projects and it does everything I need it to do so far. It's a very versatile machine for quilting or making clothing or smaller projects. I'm not an accomplished quilter but I can imagine anyone being unhappy with this machine. If you are making king sized quilts it might be difficult to push everything through because it's not a long arm machine, but that shouldn't be expected anyway.

I bought this machine because my old mechanical one didn't have a walking foot or extension table and it is a great machine. I've made several quilts including quilting some king sized ones on it. That was a little challenging because the throat space is on the smaller side, but it was doable to do straight lines with the walking foot and a carefully rolled quilt
