DON'T buy this machine!

I have been sewing for over 50 years. I bought this machine as it is lightweight and portable to to carry to my sewing group. I have had it for less than a year and it just "stopped" sewing with a code of C4 - I took the bobbin case apart as instructed and it still did not work. I called Singer and they wanted me to take it to a repair place hours away. It would cost me more in the end than what I paid for the machine. How sad that a machine lasts less than a year. Well it taught me a lesson - stay away from Singer.

Connie, sorry you are having issues with your machine. We do have 2 warranty centers in NY state. Under the terms of the manufacturer warranty Singer will cover the parts and labor to have the machine serviced. All warranty repairs require a copy of the purchase receipt. If you need to ship the machine to Oneida this would be your only out of pocket expense. Singer will cover the return shipping and the cost of the actual repair.

There are many wonderful features to this Singer Patchwork sewing machine. My favorites are the many stitches, automatic threader, and that it comes with a 1/4 foot and a walking foot that are not available. While I think the machine is 5 stars, I'm not that fond of the last thread port before the needle, having to turn the thread to a 45d. angle. I think the needle threader should return up under the machine or, that this last thread port would be on the right side of the threading bar. After using the machine steady for a week I am overall very happy with it. While it is not big enough to quilt my full size quilt, it is great for piecing and the price was very reasonable.
So far I’ve truly enjoyed the ease in making projects, everything works smoothly and the manual is very easy to use. Love it!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Only works well for a few months

I bought this machine almost a year ago. It worked really well for my first few projects. However stitches started to loop out of the seams and it cannot seem to keep it's tension consistent. I have wasted a ton of thread trying to get the tension to work correctly for each different project, the longer I have the machine the worse it gets. Even if the tension works well for a while, than it starts leaving loops in the stitches. Also this should not be advertised as a quilting machine. The opening is not big enough for any quilt larger than a baby size quilt. Don't buy this machine. It would be worth spending more on something that has higher quality.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great sewing machine!

I purchased this machine to use as a spare. This is an amazing machine for its price, sews very nicely, has tithe needle up/down and stitch-fix features. It sews slippery microfiber stretch fabrics without any adjustments from the factory settings. Singer titanium point needles are also very helpful for this. My high end machine for whatever reason will not accommodate these particular fabrics, taking necessary adjustments into account. This machine sews very quietly and smoothly, is quite stable. Bobbin winding took some getting used to, there could be more and longer seam guide lines, and the single LED light is barely adequate. These issues are minor for a sewing machine that has turned out to be such a remarkable bargain.

My husband bought this for me for christmas. I currently have a singer quantum, and he felt I needed a second machine. This surely doesnt measure up to what the reviews say. I like to make rag quilts and the information stating the pressure foot will allow for bulky fabrics just isnt true. I am struggling to get the fabric under the foot. Also it seems to have a hard time feeding one piece of fabric to the next. I have to lift up the foot every time feeding another piece thru, making chain stitching difficult. This is ok for a beginner, but really not for the avid quilter. I will save my money and next time upgrade to a better machine.
This machine is versatile and easy to use. I bought it to make a raw-edge appliqué quilt for my granddaughter, and the pre-programmed stitch styles have been such a bonus... I also like that I have the flexibility to adjust stitch length and tension with the easy-to-use buttons on the machine. The pdf manual gives clear instructions, and the sewing table attachment makes quilting much easier, too. Great little machine and I'm very pleased with my purchase.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought this machine two months ago. I'm a professional seamstress with 40+ years of experience. First one broke after two days-could not change needle position horizontally. Returned to store, got a second Patchwork. Yesterday it stopped operating and flashed an error message E7. Nothing about it in the manual or on Singer website. Not a word. Packed it up today and returned to store. Bought a Brother. Singer was formerly a good choice. Not any longer.
