I absolutely love this machine! I switched from a Singer 4411 HD, which I loved, to the Patchwork 7285Q for more embroidery/quilting options. It not only allows me to free-motion quilt/embroider with ease, but it does the regular sewing with excellence! I'm extremely happy with this model!

Bought my Patchwork machine 3 years ago, quit working, took it for repair, repairman worked 5 hours and cannot fix it, "electronic problem", very disappointed, would never waste my money on one again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am extremely frustrated with this product. I have been sewing for more than 50years and struggle just to thread the needle. It is not intuitive and every video I have watched has someone’s fingers covering the part where I get stuck. If I could send it back I would.

My 20 year old kenmore wouldn’t do a zigzag stitch anymore and I really wanted to make appliqués (cutting fabric on my cricut) so I bought this machine and it does an AMAZING job of doing a satin stitch. I’ve only had it a week or two so that’s all I’ve used it for so far, but I’m so excited about the possibilities.

Timing Off From Factory

I’ve had my machine for less than two months and, while it’s features are wonderful—needle up/down, max speed adjustment setting, and the included table—on my first heavier material project I discovered the machine’s timing was off as the needle was repeatedly hitting the needle plate and stitches were skipping. I’m rediscovering sewing so I thought I had chosen the wrong needle/tension and nearly didn’t take it in for repair. I’m glad I did or I would have never known why I had to hand crank most of a tote bag project. A very frustrating start and now month long delay for repair. A poorly adjusted machine straight from the factory is not acceptable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am a quilter and my husband bought this machine for me to take to my guild’s Sit and Sews as it is great for piecing! Easy to carry and comes with a cover that has a pocket for the extended footbed. Handy!! I have a Singer 9960 which I have been quilting on for decades and it is awesome. The only reason I gave the Patchwork 4 stars is that I miss the automatic thread cutter that’s on the 9960. But over all a good machine.
