We purchased this snowblower because I've had great experiences with Greenworks' lawnmower and other tools. I love the idea of battery powered stuff, there's less maintenance I have to worry about/learn so I was excited for this purchase. Unfortunately this product (and maybe this speaks more about battery-powered snowblowers in general) did not meet expectations.
The first of two storms was a blizzard that dumped 16" of powder on us. With this product, it took me 3 hours, 3 separate charges and shoveling to clear a 2-car, 25 foot driveway that had one vehicle in it. The second storm is a wintery mix that has dropped 3" of sleet & snow since this morning. This product even has an issue with the 3" of mix, not being able to pull up all of the snow, not getting down deep enough, turning off at the slightest sign of resistance. Now I will admit that maybe I should have erred on the side of caution when purchasing a snowblower. Living in Maine we do get some heavy storms but reading the review from someone in Wisconsin, I thought this was a safe purchase.
I know Greenworks make great products and will continue to stick with them for lawn care but I cannot recommend this product for those of us that are in the northern states. Unless you get like 8" of powder per year, this product is probably not for you.
3 stars because the craftsmanship is still good and it can serve a purpose, just not that purpose I need.

Hello DKA198,
Thank you for taking the time to review your snowblower. We apologize that the battery performance isn't as you expected. Heavy snow can indeed be more challenging to clear. It is best to clear a swath that is half the width of your machine's opening, so it's not working as hard, especially with heavy snow. We hope this information is helpful and improves your experience. If you feel there is an issue with the battery itself, we suggest contacting GreenWorks Customer Care so they can test its power. Fortunately, your battery has a ]4-year warranty that covers any manufacturing defects. We appreciate you as a customer!
Got the new snow thrower 22 inch 60v. already had two 4ah battery that is used in the mower. initially was concerned if would perform. used it three times. first two times used for 3-4 inches snow. felt like size was big enough. the problem is on the nut . the nut is lost after you rotate the snow thrower. however cannot fold now.that is not a big issue. yesterday had big snow and waited till the snow ends. may be around 7 inches. pros: a) 3-4 inches snow clearing was done in 10-15 minutes in the first two times of snow clearing b) since had backup battery , could do the 7 inches in 30-45 minutes.however the each battery died 1 time. so went for coffee break.got it charged (30-45 min)and used battery third time and completed . it was little tough for 7 inches since it got piled up after throwing. however my work was completed quickly and removed packed snow. and thought it is best than smaller size ones. cons: small amount of snow is left below.however it cleans if you go slow and position the snow thrower to the floor. overall satisfied and i also use greenworks mower and electric snow shovel that helps.
More than happy with the 22" snowblower. 2 Colorado storms and 2 knockouts. One 4" and one 8". The tool preformed as I thought it would. No more dealing with the hassle of a gas powered snowblower. This one starts with the push of a button EVERY time.
Snowblower worked one time. I was able to clear my drive once, then the next time I needed it it ran for 10 seconds and died. Tried multiple batteries, lights worked but auger didn't spin. Apparently this happens a lot. Do not recommend.
