Hello Dtr for father,

Sorry to hear of the troubles you have experienced. This string trimmer does not have replacement pre-wound spools. It is designed to be rewound using 0.080" (2 mm) trimmer line. There are two methods in which the trimmer line can be replaced. You will need approximately 15' of trimmer line at .080" inches in diameter. For the first method: Note the hash mark on the knob and the hash mark on the spool cover, while holding the spool cover in place with one hand , turn the knob until the hash mark line up with the hash mark on the spool cover. Then take the trimmer line and feed it through one of the holes in the side of the head until there is an even amount on both sides. Then wind the line into the spool by turning the knob clockwise. If you wish to readjust the line or if the line has been wound too short, push down on the knob and wind it counterclockwise. Be sure to leave about 5 inches of slack on each side of the spool. Second method: Remove the spool cover by simultaneously pushing the two tabs located on side of the spool cover. The cover should spring off, lift the spool out and feed line through hole in the center of the spool until you get an even amount of line on each side. Put the spool back in the trimmer head, making sure that both sides of the line go back into the grooves in the trimmer head, continue to hold the spool in place. Take the spool cover and put it back onto the trimmer, using both hands press down firmly to ensure that the taps lock into place, you can now rotate the knob on the spool clockwise to rewind the line back in making sure to leave the 5 inches of line on each side of the spool. This information can also be found in the owners manual, should you continued to experience a challenge we urge you to contact us once more at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS).

Perfect for the Midwest!

We’ve had this blower for about 2 months and eagerly awaited a good, Midwestern snow storm. We finally got to use over the last few weeks and we love it! We already had 3 batteries from our summer tools, so we only needed the machine. With 2 batteries, I was able to easily clear the powdery snow our driveway and sidewalk, then move onto the neighbor’s driveway and two corner lots’ worth of sidewalk. Glad I could earn “nice Midwest neighbor” brownie points today, all without fudging about with any gas.

... but I won't and I will use bullet points ... but first to set the stage, I am a 5'1" 60 year old woman.
*After doing some review search, I found this product rates very high.
*I already own one Greenworks tool and LOVE it, so when snow was coming, I decided to try their snowblower.
*Huge deal not to mess with gas and carburetors! You simply slide the battery in and off you go.
*I have a two-car wide, extra long driveway in the mountains ... which means 'on a slope' ... and we get a lot of snow. This machine clears it quickly. One battery charge cleared the entire driveway (to give you an idea, the entire area would be equivalent to ten plus car lengths). Now that is power!
*The battery is amazing! Charges quickly. After I am finished with the snow blower, I take the battery out and put the battery into the Greenworks leaf blower to blow off our deck. All this on one charge.
*I'm not gentle on equipment ... they are tools, not masters. I have cleared several snows now and this machine is sturdy!
*One night I had a guest coming over, but it snowed. I went out there in the dark, and this snowblower has headlights! I was easily able to see the driveway in the dark night and cleared it before my guest arrived.
*I highly recommend this machine. Easy, quiet, fast, and best of all ... does a great job!

Did a ton of research and am glad that I trusted the reviews. The two batteries provide plenty of power to do by double wide 60 ft driveway plus patio and sidewalk. It’s so fun to use that I also started plowing my neighbors sidewalk! The lights are a nice touch for after work plowing. Was a lot quieter than I thought too. Doesn’t bug the neighbors

I picked this up In January 22. I went with the 60v over the 80v because I already had a lot of other Greenworks tools with batteries. I was initially worried it would be under powered, but after a huge snow storm (for N. Ohio) I was relieved. This thing is seriously awesome! I use the 2x 60v from my Greenworks mower and haven’t ran out of battery power yet. I was even able to do about 50% of my driveway with the small battery from my leaf blower (4” snow). This is a great buy, if you already have other tools and batteries it’s a no brainer!
Other pros: it’s quite relative to gas. I was able to blow at about 9:00 at night so I was ready for the morning. The LED lights were adequate for this.
Cons: not many but if I had a complaint at all it would be the lever to adjust the shoot is sort of clunky. If it was more smooth it would be 10/10 product. For the money though!!!

Bought this in Jan 2022 and a few weeks later we had a 6” snowfall. The snow was covering about 2” of sleet so it created a challenge to remove. The blower did a great job moving the snow. The discharge was sufficient distance to easily remove the snow. Due to depth of the snow i had to move slowly thru it or it would bog down. once i got a rhythm going the blower worked great. I had some drifts over 12” and again with patience the blower cut thru them. The battery ran about 45 mins may have gone longer if the snow had not been so deep. I had spare batteries from 2 other GW 60v products I have so I was able to keep going. The other batteries ran down quicker of course.
The blower did pick up,some ice chunks which concerned me they could damage the unit , but it help up. since it is plastic blades, skimmer and frame it wonder how this might hold up over time. For ease of use and efficient snow removal I was pleased in its performance. It moved snow very well. i even helped neighbors who were impressed.
