Used for the first time and worked great on about 6 inches of snow. I used 4.0 ah battery and never ran out of battery life. I used on 2 car driveway and sidewalk.
I have had an electric blower for years. I didn't understand how under powered it was until I recently tried to use it to move some leaves. Then I borrowed my neighbor gas blower and leaves were running away. I typically don't need a blower for long run times, and I was interested having the cordless ability so I didn't have to drag 200 ft of extension cords to blow side walk after I mowed. So I pulled the trigger on this model. We have used it several times for small task already that we would have ignored previous. The convenience of instant start, no cords, no gas has made it a no brainer to utilize. So far it works amazing.
I have three battery-operated Greenworks tools and I love all three of them! I have a chainsaw, a leaf blower and a weed-eater. I highly recommend Greenworks. Also, their customer service is excellent!
I moved up to the state of Massachusetts last year and after my first New England winter I’ve decided to go all in with a snowblower. It was a tough gamble to go with a battery driven snowblower because all of my neighbors ran gas snowblowers and no one could or would advise me on an electric snowblower. I took the gamble and ordered one, and it was awesome! The first snowfall I used it was a week ago, it was about 8 inches of snow. The Greenworks snowblower worked great, today we had our biggest test, a Nor’easter just hit the New England area, dumping 20 inches of snow. With a 6 hour and a 5 hour battery I snow blowed the entire front yard to include my two car port area. I even had enough juice to snow blow a path for my two dogs to go from the house to the back yard.
I don't have a good basis for comparison - other than my old corded leaf blower - but in terms of power, this is more than adequate for most jobs around the yard. The biggest drawback is the battery life, but I have a 2.0 ah batter and averaged about 25 minutes per use ... and that was with me employing the turbo function a decent amount. If you need more time, I'd look toward one of the 4-6 ah batteries.
Obviously the positives are the convenience and the weight. My most pressing need for a blower is removing leaves from my roof. I have a ton of trees surrounded the house and a fairly shallow roof that requires a decent amount of attention in the fall. This blower is perfect for that. I hated dragging my old blower up there ... it was bulky and I was always afraid that I'd trip on the cord.
Another benefit is the impact on the environment ... something I assume that most Greenworks customers have already considered.
Anyway, I'd highly recommend this blower for easy to moderate tasks around the yard. I personally wouldn't use it for heavy duty stuff, but my opinion might change if I had a 6 ah battery.
