Great saw - but came shipped with skip chain. After waiting on the telephone for 3 hours on hold with support, Greenworks kindly agreed to send me a regular chain. The saw cuts very well, not quite as powerful as a 42cc gas saw, but powerful enough for most cutting chores. The 60V 2.5 Ah battery lasts a limited amount of time, but fortunately I have a second 2.0 Ah battery which makes the saw very useful. If I could only have one battery - at would be a 4.0 Ah or preferably a 5.0 Ah battery. Only other gripe is the chain brake is to close to handle... I'm constantly hitting it with top of hand and locking chain. Other than that, the saw chain spins up rather quickly and cuts nicely. Don't try to cut if the chain is not up to speed or the saw will kick back on you. It's so much easier to start than a gas chainsaw - :)
I tested this side by side with my gas 16” McXXXXX, and it outperformed the gas. The saw also cut all day on one charge. A must have for the weekend user and no dealing with gas containers, carburetor, spark plug etc
This is my second GW chainsaw. We use the 40V at our mountain hut and wanted the bigger 60V for our main home. I do recommend shelling out for a 5Ah battery if you want to do larger jobs.
Just felled 6 trees ranging from 10 inches to 14 inches in our driveway. Then proceeded to cut them all up in 2 ft chunks. I estimate i got about 60 cute on the 2.5 Ah battery and still had some power left. With my 5Ah battery I'll be doubling that easily. I love that i can store this thing for months and not worry about it not starting. Nor having to attempt to start it in the cold. Also, i appreciate the silence of operation and the utter lack of fumes and gasoline smell on me. It packs huge torque.
Having used an electric chainsaw in the past with mixed results, I was skeptical of those purchase, but this thing is great! Fells trees and bucks logs just like I need it to for the overgrown property I just bought. Love how I can just pick it up and put it down without any hassle like a gas saw would entail.
Hello, I bought the 18 inch 80 v chain saw. It came with chain already on it. Is this standard ? it did not come with a tool to loosen and tighten chain.
I like it. It made short work of the dead fruit trees and I have a lot of wood for the fireplace now because of it. I like how easy and carefree it is to use. Very glad I got it
Saw cuts great, even fairly large hardwoods like oak. Battery life ok for around the house, but you need more to do a big job. Still, I tired out before the battery did. :)
