The bar on this is a total nightmare.

Absolutely hate this product. I already had a lawnmower and trimmer on the platform so it made sense for me to get this with a extra battery to extend the life of all the items right? Wrong. The chain on this chainsaw skips off the bar even with proper tensioning and retensioning several times a project is an absolute time suck. Just get a gas platform.

Chain derailment on the Greenworks 60V 18" Chainsaw (SKU 2031902) can happen if the guide bar groove has accumulated fine sawdust and chain oil sludge, or if the bar rails have worn unevenly over time, preventing the drive links from seating securely. We recommend removing the side cover to thoroughly clear debris from the sprocket and bar groove, ensuring the chain drive links fit completely flat within the rail before tightening the tensioning knob or nut. Additionally, double-check that the chain tension is adjusted while the bar tip is lifted slightly upward, and always ensure the automatic oiler is actively lubricating the chain, as a dry chain will heat up, expand, and throw off tension during use. Tensioner need redesign.

I really wanted to like this chainsaw. When it works it is good, but I have had to replace the tensioner twice, and now it is not available to buy, I do not use it enough to have to replace the tensioner on it, but if I can get the part this will be the third time. Right now it is unusable.

Leaking bar and chain oil from tank. Starting to doubt this brand and consider switching everything. Weedeater motor won’t spin anymore, chainsaw leaking oil, polesaw handle snapped. Leaf blower and edger work ok but the mower has vibration that is either the bearing or motor shaft. Too many problems.

1. Store the unit with as little oil left in the reservoir as possible. Store the chainsaw flat with a rag beneath it.
2. During your first use, only fill the reservoir to roughly half full and check periodically to see if oil needs to be added. Eventually, you will become accustomed to the amount of oil required for each task. This procedure will make it easier to store the unit with as little oil as possible.

Battery life on this chainsaw has been amazing, I've only run it down completely once. It is such a quiet chainsaw, and such a pleasure to use. I enjoy being able to use the saw and cutting anything in my path without all the noise. All in all, it's a purchase I'm very happy with.

I have used fuel powered chainsaws for many years and more recently battery power and I have not been disappointed by the battery power since the fuel powered ones were a pain to get started.
But Now this 2.5KW 18" Greenworks chainsaw is superior to any that I have used in that size.

Buyer beware! Its not a tool but a toy, oil plug will not turn down, thread receptacle in chain oil tank is flimsy and will break rendering the saw "useless". Iam beyond tired of the lack of quality that the consumer is faced with and this is another example, I want a full refund and I will never recommend greenworks to any serious worker, "BUYER BEWARE"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- Remove the oil cap and inspect both the cap threads and tank opening for debris or plastic burrs. Clean and re-seat carefully.
- Start threading slowly and ensure it catches evenly, if resistance is felt early, back off and realign to avoid cross-threading.
- Do not overtighten; a firm hand-tight seal is sufficient to prevent leaks.
- Verify the cap gasket O-ring is seated properly, as misalignment can make the cap feel like it will not fully tighten.
