Better than expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The pole saw is working well. The chain saw not so much. The chain jumps off easily. When it does jump up, it is damaging the chain and the guide bar. I believe the metal that is manufactured from may not be of best quality. The pole saw chain jumps off pretty easily as well, but it seems to be made of better metal as the chain isn't getting chewed up.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Greenworks 60V Chainsaw. There is a high probability that the chain gets damaged after being thrown out of the guide bar. Please make sure that is possible or replace the chain with a new one that properly fits your guide bar.
• If the chain gets thrown as soon as you start the saw, it is very probable that you are not using the correct chain type/size or rim/drive sprocket.
• If the chain gets thrown during use, then it probably needs to be clean and adjusted for tension.
The more you use a chain the longer it becomes. It is therefore important to adjust the chain regularly to take up the slack. Tension the chain so that it can only just be pulled away from the bar at its centre point.
Read the steps and follow below for further instructions.
1. Stop the machine.
2. Loosen the lock nuts with the wrench.
3. Turn the chain adjustment screw clockwise to increase
the chain tension.
4. Turn the chain adjustment screw counterclockwise to decrease the chain tension.
5. When the chain is at the wanted tension, tighten the lock nuts.

First chainsaw

This is the first chainsaw I've ever purchased and it's been really good so far. I went with greenworks because I have one of their pressure washers and it is a good product also. I've cut down about two wheel barrows worth of wood and I still have half battery. I've been impressed.
Pros: Convenient, Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Effective, Powerful

This is the Best chainsaw! I am 54 years old with nerve damage to my dominant hand yet I can cut with this chainsaw for hours.
Smooth. Easy one handed operation.
Satisfying and fun. Sounds weird but I really enjoy cutting with this chainsaw.
Lots of cutting. I use the 8mah batteries from my mower for less changing because I'm cutting decent sized logs.
The licensed, bonded, experienced tree man felling the big 42" diameter stump complimented my chainsaw while I was zipping through branch cleanup. That's a good feeling.
Some of the logs pictured were done with a gas saw until the pull string broke. I will never have that problem.
The only thing that would make me happier is a 24" bar and chain because I think it could power it.

The chain keeps falling and I already replaced it 3 times. Not what I expected. Customer support suggested I'll buy a new one.

Chain saw 18 inch 60v

I bought this about a month ago and used it one time and it worked flawlessly. I got it out again to cut a small tree down. About half way through the chain flew off. I tried putting the chain back on. The adjustment screw was frozen and i could not get it to give me enough slack to get the chain onto the bar. I took tje bar off the adjustment adjustment knob and put the chain onto the bar and manuvered the bar back onto the adjustment knob. The adjustment screw let me tighten the chain but then the chain would not turn even if i loosened it some. i put the battery in and tried it to see if it worked. turned about one turn and the chain froze. It looks as if this is junk! i also purched a lawn mower so I hope it is better quality than this saw but I have my doubts.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quiet, Environmentally Safe
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

this saw is REAL WORK HORSE!

I'm glad I bought the 18-inch saw. I have hardwood logs 18 x 24 inches - This saw cut right through that log, in a big hurry, then ate that log for lunch! I was throwing chips 10 feet! I don't have a log splitter, but by putting a 2 inch deep kerf in the log and dropping in a wedge, splitting is no problem at all.
I was experiencing about 15-20 minute run times with continuous usage. A spare battery would be a big plus. also- this IS a two-handed saw with plenty of power.

Very convenient tool

I bought four 60V tools in spring of 2022 to upgrade from the 40V greenworks tools that I have. While this a good tool it was least impressive of the batch when compared with the 40V tools. It has a higher chain speed than the 40V and can cut faster but it seems to have less torque and stalls much more often. It also suffers from the same problem as every other 18" chainsaw that I have used in that it is very prone to throwing the chain. For some reason the industry standard 18" bill seems to be too straight to keep the chain in the groove. Just a little more thickness top to bottom in the middle of the blade would help a lot. Tensioning the chain is easier on the 40V saw and that helps some as well.
While the saw could be better I do like it enough that I bought a second one for my son-in-law.
