Just took the saw out of the box, added some chain bar oil, stuck in a battery and started cutting wood. The chain was sharp and the saw is much lighter than a gas powered one. This is the first chainsaw my wife has ever used because it’s quiet, light, and the chain stops as soon as you let off the trigger.
I bought this in spring 2021. I used it a few times and realized the chain wasn’t being lubricated. I had to drive 25 miles to an authorized dealer. They agreed and said green works would send me a new saw. That took about 2 months. I’ve had the new saw for about 4 months and used it for the second time yesterday. Guess what? That chain isn’t lubracating. Here we go again.

Just finished my first full session with the pole trimmer and pole saw. They both worked very well. I was actually surprised at how large a limb the trimmer would actually cut. The saw was very smooth with very little vibration. It was also much quieter than I expected.
Cuts wonderfully for 5 minutes until the chain comes off

Best cutting small saw ever, except the chain constantly comes off and there is no tension adjustment. am i missing something?

Hello mwag91, Thank you for your review. We would recommend reviewing the tensioning steps as outlined in your instruction manual and here: 1. Loosen the chain cover by turning the bar nut counterclockwise. Please note, it is not necessary to remove the chain cover to adjust the chain tension. 2. Turn the chain tension screw behind the bar and chain clockwise to increase the chain tension. 3. Turn the chain tension screw counterclockwise to decrease the chain tension. Ensure the chain tensioner is tight enough to keep the bar from moving. 4. When the chain is at the wanted tension, tighten the chain cover. If this does not fix the issue, please contact GreenWorks Customer Care at 1-888-909-6757 and we will be happy to assist.
I had a large ash tree taken down and now I'm cutting it up. This saw cut through 20 inch logs smoothly and quickly. Saw is heavy but balance is good. Cutting time is short though on a 5.0 battery.
The chain is very soft and dulls quickly. The chain jumps off once dull and sure enough ruins the chain! It does cut very well when brand new, I got about an hour of cutting before having to charge the battery, (only takes about 45 mins to charge with the fast charger! )
