After using this chainsaw as a handy, easy to use pruning aid around the yard I was finally task with a real job for it. A 40 foot oak was threatening a structure and I thought about pulling out the 2 stroke 22" but instead decided to take this one up in the lift. It not only cut all of the trimming aspects but also made easy work of the large branches we had to cut and it topped out the tree without a hitch. Back on the ground Iwas able to cut the majority of the downed tree into manageable pieces before changing the battery for the first and only time during the cleanup. Adjusted the chain once and the oiler works great. Bonus, the oiler doesn't seep oil like my other chain saw always do.
I have had a few chain saws but this greenworks 60v 16" chainsaw is easily the easiest I have ever used. It has cut through everything the gas saws do. It is quicker, quieter and pushbutton easy to use. I also have greenworks pressure washer, string trimmer and leaf blower. I am a big fan and will continue to give greenworks my business
Happy with my decision to go with a battery powered tool

I've had this chainsaw about a month and so far I'm very pleased. I decided to go battery powered to avoid yet another tool in the shed that required a gas mixture. The saw is plenty powerful and I tire out before the 2.5 Ah battery does. So far I've used it for light limb trimming, taking down a few trees about 8" diameter, and sawing up a downed tree of about 13" diameter.
The chainsaw is very easy to use and has plenty of power for light to moderate work. Cuts really fast. Just make sure you watch the chain tension closely to keep the slack out.
It's Greenworks and it's quality that works. Way easier to handle/use than a gas powered saw, and for my use, it's more than powerful enough. I own several Greenworks tools and they've all proven to be high quality, reliable, and more than sturdy enough to do the work.
Purchased this to replace my gas saws. For the handful of times a year I need a saw I didn't want the aggravation of dealing with gas. This is not a cheap tool! Well made and cuts as well as any saw as long as you let the saw do its job cutting. 14" diameter cuts are no problem. Buy with confidence!
Powerful but may need larger/newer battery to really function

I had the 16” saw from about 2.5 years ago and loved it but decided to upgrade to this 18” model after the oil reservoir cracked into pieces. This saw feels slightly more powerful but I have 4 2.0-2.5 ampHour batteries and none of them allow the saw to run more than maybe 5 mins at best and they get very hot and cause the saw to stop. I have a 5 ah battery (also from 2.5 years ago) that does much much better. I think logically it would last twice as long, but it’s more like 5 times longer. I’m wondering if there was a change in battery design because mine are from before the models with HC stamped on them… and even those seem to be outdated. I’m fine with them lasting 50-70% shorter, but they really don’t seem to function much at all.
