Stay away from this one. The chain came off the bar numerous times. This happened even after adjusting the tension multiple times. To make it worse, the chain is a 1/4" pitch where as other brands all use a 3/8", so hard to find a compatible chain even at manufacturer website. They sell this chain at a premium price. The bar and chain are not covered under any warranty. I wanted to return for store credit but being outside the one month return period, the manufacturer was not willing to make any concessions. To me this pole saw is a poor design. Looks like a good product, but looks can be deceiving.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I don’t have use for a chainsaw often so every time I go to get my gas powered chainsaw, it takes forever to get it cranked. Right out of the box, I was able to cut down a foot wide tree and then a smaller one. Very pleased with how smoothly it cut.
I bought this for my husband to replace the gas chainsaw he has. Excellent cutting power and battery life. It's easier than the gas one and you don't have to mix the Smelly oil and gas.
value is off the chart on this one. Heavy duty, powerful, built like a tank. Have cut through 8 medium sized trees so far, including using it to cut them into small baggable pieces. Like a knife through hot butter.
I love my Greenworks chainsaw. It cuts great, starts every time, and shuts off completely as soon as I take my finger off the trigger. I've now used it multiple days of working on fallen dead ash and cherry and it feels safer and far more reliable than my gas-powered chainsaw. I have both a 2.5A and a 4.0A 60V battery and I can do a surprising number of cuts before switching, and then the first battery re-charges while I'm working with the second one and taking a lunch break. For my homeowner usage, this is perfect. I don't have to deal with gas and oil, it starts every time at a touch, and I feel great that I'm recharging the batteries from my solar panels!
This simple switch to a cordless, battery operated chainsaw was supposed to be a supplement to my existing gas-powered saws. It was supposed to be a saw that my girlfriend could wield safely and without struggling to start, as with the gas models. What a surprise that I not only began using it myself, but I used ONLY it to cut my entire year of firewood (I burn wood for my only heat source) including the thicker trees and all kindling as well. I live in a solar-powered home that is off-grid and doesn't have many options due to my location and distance from town/anywhere else. Not only does the saw cut through trees as efficiently as my gas-powered, but the safety features make my nerves rest way more than ever, due to the automated shut off when the trigger is disengaged. With the gas saw, they might stop or they might keep spinning, while this saw is done when your finger says it is done. I can't say enough about this company and this saw, except to say that I am actively changing all of my fossil tools to Greenworks, starting with a hand drill and lawn mower. I will review the mower once the snow finally leaves our northern lawn. I won't stop until I am completely Green and I know I will have no regrets, other than not making this switch years ago. LOVE Greenworks!!
I bought this chainsaw a few months ago and my property hasn’t looked this great in a very long time. My husband used to do all the chainsaw work on our 15 acres. He passed away and I was scared to use the gas powered saws. My brother recommended Greenworks and I’m so glad he did. I’m a 65 year old woman and I’m 5’2” tall and I manage this saw easily. I have told all my friends they need this chainsaw.
