Greatly improved power

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been planning to upgrade my 40v 12" chainsaw for a while. The recent ice storm and a lot of tree damage caused me to finally make the change. It is significantly more powerful than the 40v. The longer bar enabled me to handle much more and faster than i could have with the 40v. However, I find the tension to be rather finicky and needing constant adjustment. Multiple times the chain has skipped out and damaged the teeth section that holds in the bar groove. Even to the point of needing to Dremel the burrs that formed down before it could fit back into the groove.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Unexpected Great Little Chainsaw

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I owned other Greenworks 60-volt tools, and they all work great, so I thought I would try the chainsaw. I owned smaller battery chainsaws; they worked, but were slow. The Greenworks chainsaw arrived. I plugged in the battery and went to test it; it worked excellently. As good as, if not better than, my small gas-powered chainsaw, but without all the starting problems. I cut branches between 9 & 10 inches like butter, could not believe it. Very Nice Chainsaw.

Purchased one in November - got some use out of it, but the power had intermittent interruptions. I could be cutting or not cutting and the power would interrupt for no reason. I might have to release and depress the safety and the trigger multiple times to get started again. Eventually it stopped working. Trash.
Pros: Quiet
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor Bar Design

I have about 2 hours of use time on the saw.
Battery life is okay.
Bar is poorly designed.
Roller at end has too small of a diameter which leads to binding.
The binding has caused a pinch in the chain which now has to be replaced.
Will have to look into getting a proper aftermarket bar from Oregon.
As is, the saw is more of a 2" diameter maximum branch size suburban homeowner type of saw.
Battery life is okay.
Bar is poorly designed.

18" Chainsaw

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to cut up a fallen tree, and it was hardwood, so I had to replace blade with s62 oregon and when I went to cut, made 3 cuts and battery was dead already. Had to stop and recharge the battery. Not happy with the battery duration at all
