The saw has a fantastic chain speed meaning it cuts pretty fast. Definitely comparable to a decent sized 18" gas saw a co-worker uses. Used for trail maintenance in a state park, so light weight is important. A 4AHr battery can make around 8-10 cuts in a 14 inch oak log. Typically also carry a Greenworks pole hedger and another battery so the batteries can be shared.
Easy to use and cuts beautifully and smoothly. It it so much nicer than our old gas chainsaw. It is also quieter. I would definitrly recommend this product. We also have the lawn mower, leaf blower and trimmer.
I've owned this saw for three months and I've used it several times. However, the chain comes off the bar constantly and the set-screw to tighten the chain is nearly impossible to use. The placement of the screw is inconvenient and difficult to tighten as a result. Once tight, the chain works for about 6 to 10 cuts, then the chain falls off, damaging the plastic housing each time. Do not buy this tool if you need to work rather than tinker with tools.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello JasonB
Thank you for sharing your experienced. Chainsaw chains can come off due to multiple reasons such as worn-down bars, worn-down sprockets, and wrongly set chain tension. Please check the chain tension and condition of all parts prior to using. If anything is worn or damaged, replace the parts before using again. Replace the bar if: • the groove is not fit with the height of the drive links (which must never touch the bottom). • the inside of the guide bar is worn and causes the chain lean to one side. Great saw. Lightweight, powerful and very simple to operate. Battery lasts for a lot of small cuts. Did not even use 1/4 of the charge after cutting down several small trees.
Works great, with 2 batteries it outlast me as i am 74. I like not having to pull start a gas saw. Fine for clearing trails. It cuts maple just fine but you would be out out battery life if you were a serious fire wood cutter.
Saw performs well, but it is heavy. Run time is good. Actually, I thought I was buying a 16-inch saw, but I ordered the 18-inch by error. But I am happy with it.
