this saw is REAL WORK HORSE!

I'm glad I bought the 18-inch saw. I have hardwood logs 18 x 24 inches - This saw cut right through that log, in a big hurry, then ate that log for lunch! I was throwing chips 10 feet! I don't have a log splitter, but by putting a 2 inch deep kerf in the log and dropping in a wedge, splitting is no problem at all.
I was experiencing about 15-20 minute run times with continuous usage. A spare battery would be a big plus. also- this IS a two-handed saw with plenty of power.

Very convenient tool

I bought four 60V tools in spring of 2022 to upgrade from the 40V greenworks tools that I have. While this a good tool it was least impressive of the batch when compared with the 40V tools. It has a higher chain speed than the 40V and can cut faster but it seems to have less torque and stalls much more often. It also suffers from the same problem as every other 18" chainsaw that I have used in that it is very prone to throwing the chain. For some reason the industry standard 18" bill seems to be too straight to keep the chain in the groove. Just a little more thickness top to bottom in the middle of the blade would help a lot. Tensioning the chain is easier on the 40V saw and that helps some as well.
While the saw could be better I do like it enough that I bought a second one for my son-in-law.

I just purchased a 60V 4.0Ah 18 inch chainsaw and was pleased that it performed as advertised, age is 82 years of age and have owned gas chainsaws for over 60 year,, I will never go back to gas

NO GO CHAINSAW!

Had this Chainsaw for a month; refuses to run. Charged the Battery again to full charge and still it refuses to run!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quiet but Powerful Chainsaw for the Mountains or t

Wow. I really like my new Greenworks PRO 60V 20” Chainsaw. The saw was very well packaged and was very easy to assemble in just a few minutes. The charging unit is appears to be very well designed and charges the battery in a relatively short period of time.
I had significant experience running powerful gas chain saws in the 1980s while operating a large commercial Maple Sugaring operation in Vermont. We had a 200-cord woodshed to fuel a wood-fired maple sap evaporator. So with that qualifier, I am impressed with the tremendous power and cutting speed of this battery-powered chainsaw. Its power-to-weigh ratio is impressive compared to the gas-powered units I have operated and I found its overall weight very easy to manage.
Now living in the suburbs of Pennsylvania my wife and neighbors welcome how quiet this unit is. I reminded myself to lock my left elbow for the hand holding the top handle as the torque is instantaneous and very powerful!
I felled a large tree at my daughter’s house and bucking up the large diameter trunk into blocks was a breeze. The shower of woodchips just poured into a big pile at my feet with every cut. The bar oil tank seems to last a good long time but I needed to remind myself to check it as I was not stopping to fill up a gas tank. I really like not having to mix gas with oil that I end up spilling trying to fill the little gas tanks on gas-powered saws. From an environmental standpoint if you need a super powerful chainsaw at the ready for your work or play this is overall a super choice.
I have included a few photos and a short video. I am very happy with this chainsaw.

Amazing Chainsaw!

I've just had the opportunity to put the Pro 60V 20" Brushless 3.0 kw chainsaw to use cutting up some fallen trees on my property. I was impressed with the ease of starting the chainsaw. I have to say the push button start is very nice and easy on my shoulders and back. This saw had an immense amount of power and more than I needed for this simple job. I know this saw is capable of doing a lot more. Plus, the 8.0 Ah battery and rapid charger make this saw even more worth it because the battery lasts longer and charges faster than I expected. Overall, I was very impressed with this chainsaw and would recommend it to anyone.

Many issues

I've had this saw for about a year, but it only worked for about the first month. When you tighten the chain it won't turn it. When you loosen the chain to the point it will turn, it is too loose and become spring from the bar. It is all so very frustrating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The tension on a new or newish chain should be checked and tightened every 20 minutes of cutting or so, it can get away from you fast. However, be sure to never tension a warm chain before storing as chains shrink when cooling and this can damage the chain, bar and saw. Please ensure that when you remove the side cover that the following parts are there and in order: sprocket (chain wheel), chain wheel washer and finally the c-lip. These parts are imperative when it comes to keeping the chain on.

Performs like a pro

I have used chain saws for over 30 years and recently spent an afternoon comparing my new greenworks saw side-by-side with my pro model gas chain saw while cutting up a hardwood 18" diameter tree. The greenworks cut as quickly and easily through the most knotty and gnarly section of the butt end of the tree as my gas saw, and the 20" bar made limbing the top end easy. The greenworks was comfortable to operate as well, and I recommend an extra battery to have charged and ready in order to keep a steady pace when blocking up a pile of firewood.
