Works well, leaks oil everywhere

This saw works well, easy to maintain, I love all my Greenworks tools. However one flaw- you can't leave oil in the reservoir or it leaks everywhere. No matter which way I store it it leaves oil all over the place. I rang to enquire and was told basically just to add enough oil for the job I'm doing. Not ideal.
Pros: Convenient, Easy to Use, Environmentally Safe, Powerful
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When experiencing leaking, try loosening the oil cap to release any vacuum that may have built up, as it can hold the pump open slightly, causing oil to flow past. However, we do advise that if you are storing your unit for a period of time to empty out the oil reservoir. We also recommend wiping down the chainsaw after use, as this will reduce oils that are left on the bar and chain from pooling. Not the greatest but not bad

Chain popped off during the first use. When the chain came off it ate into a piece of metal that is directly under where the bar attaches. Not a great design choice as the chain was so beat up afterward that it needed to be replaced and that metal bit was nearly chewed off as well. The machine itself runs fairly well and has a good amount of power but it's definitely not designed as well as it could have been. I'm just glad I didn't pay full price.

Thank you for the feedback! Sorry to hear that the unit is performing to your expectations. Chains stretch with use. When new, they stretch more. The tension on a new or newish chain should be checked and tightened every 20 minutes of cutting or so, it can get away from you fast. Do not tighten the oil cap!

I loved this chainsaw until I didn't. The oil reservoir split at the neck where the two sides were formed together. It now leaks very badly. The more you tighten, the wider that split gets. I can slow it down to a slow drip by screwing in the cap just until I feel it meeting the neck
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent Combo

I bought this more for having a pole hedge trimmer but have been using the pole saw just as much. Very impressed with the power as well as cutting capabilities. The pole saw has worked up to 4-5" diameter limbs and could probably cut thru larger diameter. Well balanced and great battery life.

Ever since I got this saw I've putting it to the test. I've had it for 6 months now and it's performing great. I would say the battery last just as long a gas saw on one tank of gas. That impressed me. I used it on big and small trees and limbs. I'll be looking at more products like this since I own a large property.
