Cuts 1 month of firewood on dual battery charge

I've used mine a few years now, and know it pretty well. In most sessions I use both 4 Ah batteries fully, and in doing so get about a month of firewood, cutting a cross section of wood measuring about two square meters, or a stack about 8 feet long and 40 inches high (roughly 30% of a cord). I sharpen the chain (manual file of correct size) and refill the oil between each full-charge (two battery) session, and charge the batteries 70% after use, then top off before the next use. Has held up with no obvious loss for five years (8 cords) of wood. Take care of it, and it will take care of you. Recommend extra bar/chain to free up pinched/stuck bar. Also mill lumber using jig that rides along 2x6; should get rip blade to cut more efficiently in this mode...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little thing works great. We had a storm roll through and left behind some broken tree limbs. We were able to chop them up to haul away pretty quickly. Really like that we didn’t have to drive to town to get gas for it.

I’ve been using the saw for the past 6 months and I am pleased. It rips through big wood with little effort. It has plenty of power. A perfect tool for a homeowner that has periodic cutting needs. If you have multiple batteries, then it makes it a good tool for the job site. Again, it rips through whatever you want. The one drawback is the weight—it is on the heavier side, especially if you are using the 8AH battery. I prefer using the 4AH because of the weight.

First chainsaw

This is the first chainsaw I've ever purchased and it's been really good so far. I went with greenworks because I have one of their pressure washers and it is a good product also. I've cut down about two wheel barrows worth of wood and I still have half battery. I've been impressed.

Problem With Slack Chain

Purchased to cut down smaller trees and to trim branches. Runs and cuts great when the chain is on but I cannot get it to stay on. Have finally given up and will have to purchase another brand. It’s like there is one link too many on the chain and there does not appear to be a master link to shorten it . I had read reviews with the same problem, but figured they just did not know how to tighten it properly. I purchased it anyway since I had other Greenworks tools and wanted to build my outdoor tool collection around my battery chargers. My tension adjustment knob is to the max and I cannot extend the bar out any further for tightening. Guess the other people having this problem were correct.
Pros: Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Quiet, Environmentally Safe
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Check intermittently throughout each chore to make sure the chain is kept properly tensioned and condition of all parts prior to using. If anything is worn or damaged, replace parts before using again. A correctly tensioned chain should only pull away from the bar enough to fit a dime between the teeth and the bar. Do not tension a chain after you have finished using the tool. Hot metal expands. If the chain needs tensioning when hot, then allow to cool, the contracting metal could potentially damage the chain, the bar and even the unit, wait until the next use (or at least until cooled) before tensioning.

Saw great, battery no so much

I bought this about 2 months ago and have used it a lot cutting large trees we had dropped on our property. The good: cuts well, strong performance, easy to use. The meh; battery is good for 25-30 minutes of hard work. It will get hot and stop too. When trying to recharge you need to cool it for 30 min to recharge for about 45 min.
A 20” saw is going to be used for big cuts. Recommend it comes with 2-3 batteries to be useful for heavy work.
