Wanted to like it but…

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wanted to give 5 stars but couldn’t because the chain has fallen off the bar 3 times in 3 uses. Not just that but when the chain comes off, it ends up getting nicked up by the metal guide underneath the tool resulting in a chain that won’t glide on bar. I’ve had to repair 2 brand new chains. So now when I go to use the tool, I am always worried that the chain will come off and I cannot finish the job. Not good. Btw, tool has bar oil and tensioned to recommendation.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Chainsaw chains can come off due to multiple reasons such as worn-down bars, worn-down sprockets, and wrongly set chain tension. Please check the chain tension and condition of all parts prior to using. If anything is worn or damaged, replace parts before using again. Replace the bar if: the groove is not fit with the height of the drive links (which must never touch the bottom). The inside of the guide bar is worn and make the chain lean to one side. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had used my neighbors combo kit. And was impressed so I ordered this set. The main difference was the length of the pole saw blade. When trying to trim arborvitae, the pole saw was terrible. I had a very difficult time keeping the chain on. I believe that the 10" chain stretched more than the 8" chain, allowing the twigs to get between the chain and the bar causing the chain to come off. Next time I go to trim my arborvitae, I will purchase a shorter bar and chain.

Removing dead branches is one thing, but removing large sections of a live tree can be stressful to the plant. Aim to remove no more than a third of the shrub per season. Consistent trimmings over time are better than removing much of your arborvitae in one go. It's important to exercise caution and ensure the tool is suitable for the specific hedge type and condition.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The pole saw is working well. The chain saw not so much. The chain jumps off easily. When it does jump up, it is damaging the chain and the guide bar. I believe the metal that is manufactured from may not be of best quality. The pole saw chain jumps off pretty easily as well, but it seems to be made of better metal as the chain isn't getting chewed up.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Greenworks 60V Chainsaw. There is a high probability that the chain gets damaged after being thrown out of the guide bar. Please make sure that is possible or replace the chain with a new one that properly fits your guide bar.
• If the chain gets thrown as soon as you start the saw, it is very probable that you are not using the correct chain type/size or rim/drive sprocket.
• If the chain gets thrown during use, then it probably needs to be clean and adjusted for tension.
The more you use a chain the longer it becomes. It is therefore important to adjust the chain regularly to take up the slack. Tension the chain so that it can only just be pulled away from the bar at its centre point.
Read the steps and follow below for further instructions.
1. Stop the machine.
2. Loosen the lock nuts with the wrench.
3. Turn the chain adjustment screw clockwise to increase
the chain tension.
4. Turn the chain adjustment screw counterclockwise to decrease the chain tension.
5. When the chain is at the wanted tension, tighten the lock nuts.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical that a battery chainsaw works on larger logs, so I bought the 16”, 60 V battery chainsaw at a local retailer because of the discount.
I have never used the chainsaw before, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it exceeded my expectations. I have made under 100 cuts, up to 14 inches in diameter without any problems. For my use, I would use battery operated over fuel saws Because they’re easy to operate and are not stinky. They also make very little noise where I would not read hearing protection. I love How easy it is to use.
