’m no stranger to Greenworks products, so I knew when I pulled this new chainsaw out of it’s box that I would be impressed.. and let me tell ya, I WAS! I’ve used a ton of their products, dating back to the early 2000s, and it quickly became the brand of choice for me.
Let me go into detail more: The materials used feel much more heavy-duty than a few of the other chainsaws I’ve sampled. It’s VERY well-balanced, and feels rock-solid. The look and feel of the Pro chainsaw makes you realize this tool is the real deal and not some cheap electric spin off of a gas saw. It handles the job with ease! I had a skeptical buddy borrow it and he said he had NO issues running through the lot of trees and broken limbs that lay before him. He did note that he powered through one battery rather quickly…. he noted some of the dead trees were almost like rocks, and he was very surprised when he had plenty of power to make it through the first few of them without a problem. He said at some point he forgot he was using an electric and thought he would be needed gas soon (mindset you have to overcome when switching to electric)! I found that funny being he’s the mister tough guy type, a no-nonsense sort of fella who has every tool imaginable, this was a whole new experience for him, and I think it sold him on getting his OWN Greenworks equipment! Again, coming in after using a power tool and not stinking of gas is such a HUGE BONUS!
I highly recommend this saw, but I would recommend buying more than one battery! It’s a load of fun!
Used this to clear my driveway after a 30ft hackberry fell during hurricane Harvey. Was able to cut everything up to around 10" diameter with ease. No fumes, and very quiet compared to gas. Just remember to keep the chain sharp, and it won't let you down.
This chainsaw is amazing. It cuts great, and the battery last longer than I have ever needed. Also, you can charge the battery and it will hold that change until you need it again. No gas, no oil, no smell, and I don't have to fight it to get it started. I should have bought one sooner than I did.
I Love my 60V 16 In Cordless Brushless Chainsaw. It is light weight and easy to use. Has more than enough power to get the job done. The battery keeps a good charge for a long time. Easy to maneuver and use even for women. A lot easier to start than one you have to pull on a cord to get started. No hassel with gas or mixing gas/oil. Quieter than a gas chain saw also.
I really wondered if this would have the power of a gas powered chainsaw, and my expectations were pleasantly exceeded. I have used this for numerous projects, but recently I cut up several old logs that have been sitting at the side of our house for several years. Within 15 minutes I had them all cut to splitting length. My wife and kids had been working in front of our house, 20 feet from where I was. When I showed my wife the pile of neatly stacked logs, she asked when I had found the time to do it. I told her that I had just completed the task, and she said, "But I didn't even hear the chainsaw."
I have never used a chainsaw that did not require hearing protection. The GreenWorks 60V chainsaw is quiet and powerful. I have also used it to clean up palm trees, and they now look like they've been trimmed by professionals.
It is also great using a tool that produces no fumes. No exhaust, no hot motor covers that cause burns, and no gas spilling on the brush.
When I cut through a 12 inch mesquite log in less than 15 seconds, I knew that I had a winner. Fantastic, powerful tool with an outstanding warranty. You will not be disappointed.
My wife and I bought this chain saw for Christmas, I carried it to the woods to cut under growth. I was very impressed with the power of the machine, it handles real good, cuts good, had two batteries and worked for an hour or more. I have an gas chain saw and I wear ear plugs while cutting, but with this saw it was quiet and I love that. Like all chain saws the chain will get loose and will come off the sprocket but is easy to put back on.
I have had this chainsaw for a couple months, and have used it several times. First I used to cut up a 10 inch cherry tree. Today I used for 30 year old shrubs, 2 inch branches and several 5 inch diameter pine trees along my driveway. Each time the 60 volt battery lasted through the entire job. I didn't have to use ear protection, and didn't have to smell the gas mixture I had to smell using older gas powered products. I am sold!
So, I've had this little baby about a month now and I have to say, I am insanely impressed. Let's start at the beginning. Out of the package, it's a beauty. Came with the saw (obviously), the battery, charger, chain cover, tool, and owners manual.
In the hand, it feels like a normal gas powered chainsaw. Really well balanced and ergonomic to hold. It's actually a little bit lighter than your average gasser, so you won't get fatigued as quick. It's already assembled and ready to go out of the box. My battery even had half a charge! However, I suggest checking the bar bolts for tightness. Mine were a little loose out of the box. No big deal, though.
It has the same controls as you're used to on any other chainsaw. The chain stop safety thing is easy to engage, but not close enough to your normal hand placement to be at risk of accidentally engaging. When you first fire it up, it sounds awesome. It starts slow for a fraction of a second and then, almost as if a turbo kicks in, it gets insanely fast. But it's so dang QUIET. It's weird when you're used to hearing a loud motor while using one. But, weird in a good way.
Now on to the good part; the cutting! A good 30' long, 14" thick branch recently fell off a huge red oak at work. Perfect opportunity for me to test this thing out. I was chopping the little branches up left and right. Cuts through them like butter. The real test was cutting through the main body of it. The battery was halfway dead by then, but it ate through the entire thing in one pass. I was shocked. I got about an hour of cutting on a fully charged battery. Enough to do 3/4 of this massive branch by myself before help arrived to finish. THREE QUARTERS OF THE GIANT BRANCH IN THE PICTURE!!!
To summarize: it's light, comfortable, easy to use, and POWERFUL. Do yourself a favor and get one of these beauties!
