[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband FLIPPED out with excitement when this was delivered! He’s been wanting a cordless chainsaw to trim our overgrown trees, this fit the bill. For once he was actually excited to do yard work. I asked if I could do it next time and he said no way, this is my toy.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tired of the haggle with gas, this thing is amazing. Easy to take anywhere and fires right up every time. The chainsaw made quick work of the fruit tree in the backyard that desperately needed a trim. Would recommend to anyone!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This chainsaw is perfect! I primarily use it at our family ranch where we gather lots of large branches. This is great because of the powerful 60 volt battery. It has plenty of juice for cutting large branches. The battery charges pretty quickly as well.
I have had this saw for several months now and used it to cut down an 80 foot oak and a 110 foot pine tree. Saw is light weight for working up in the canopy of the trees. Saw cuts well and has enough power to get through 28 inch rounds. You cannot force the saw like a gas powered saw. You must allow the saw to cut without applying too much pressure. You will need an extra battery if you want to keep cutting without waiting to recharge the battery.
I was convinced all chainsaws were junk and expendable. I had about 6 that worked for awhile and quit. Chains fall off, won’t idle, won’t start, etc. This one changed my mind. I get tons of use on my property and very rarely run down my battery. When I do I just clear brush for awhile, get some water, and I’m back at it. Runs smooth and very rare chain adjustments. Well worth it.
I've always owned a gas saw (a great Stihl 025 that has lasted over 30 years) but I wanted a saw I could just go out early and cut up fallen trees or limbs without waking up the neighborhood. I read the reviews and when Lowes offered a 30 day no questions asked return, I jumped. I was not disappointed. The saw cuts great, is very quiet and the battery does seem to last as long as advertised (for now). I had a problem - the chain tension screw either stripped or a gear broke inside) so Greenworks directed me to a repair shop for evaluation. A week later a new 60 volt 16inch chainsaw was on my porch. Can't ask for better performance or service.
We have had issues with ours. We had it replaced once less than 90 days after purchase due to the chain slipping off because the bar wouldn't tighten properly. And now not even a year later the replacement has cracked on the chamber that holds the bar oil. It works fine other than it is clearly cheaply made. In hindsight I am not sure I would have wasted money on it
