I bought this a month ago to deal with some sizable dead tree branches after I could not get my 2 gas chainsaws to start and remain running. I was very impressed by the power packed in the 60V battery.
The best tool to make your neighbors best friends!

Had a residential split shaft pole saw extension in my gas power head. The aftermarket attachment would typically only last one season (with heavy maintenance after each use). After burning through the second shaft extension in two years, I was left with three options. I could either buy another cheap pole saw extension ($), invest in a professional split shaft pole saw assembly/trimmer assembly ($$$$), or buy a dedicated battery pole saw ($$). On a recommendation from a friend, bought the 60v pole trimmer and fell in love. Having such a good experience with the hedger, I decided I would give the pole saw a shot since the price was very reasonable. Having used this saw many times over the past two months I have fallen in love this pole saw! At least 6 of my neighbors have asked me to clear their limbs, which gives me an excuse to use it more. This pole saw is perhaps the best battery power tool I own. Do your neighbors a favor and get this pole saw!
I love to use this chainsaw--low noise and I don't end up smelling like fuel. It has enough power to buck up a 20" dia. fir tree (that's about this saw's limit). The 2 Amp battery will burn fast on large logs but you'll get quite a bit of cuts for 4"- 6" dia. wood. I use my GW mower 5 Amp battery for longer work times. Plenty of power and comfortable to use. I love not having to use a pull cord or worry about carb or fuel system problems. My only suggestion is for a thicker/heavier duty bar as I foresee this one will get bent easily.
I had bad experiences with both gas saws & lower quality electric saws. I hate the maintenance, smell, and reliability of gas tools, hoping they start at the start of the season, having and keeping track of regular and blended gas cans, etc... I borrowed my MIL's Ryobi electric chainsaw, but it was just 18V, the chain was dull, and it was clearly a brush motor model that was wearing out. After entirely too much research, I chose this one. Holy wow, this thing REALLY kicks some serious branch. One charge, took down three 8' knurly knotty bushes, & two trees about 8" thick, chopped them all down to size, and had a couple bars of charge left. And it did it quick. It outperformed my "best" gas saw, and it's about half the weight. I also got the 60V leaf blower, which is equally impressive. I'm planning on replacing everything with the 60V models, string trimmer, hedge trimmer, mower, snow blower, and ditching all the incompatible chargers, multiple gas cans, & extension cords, that go along with the hodgepodge of tools that require them, and let Greenworks put the fun back into property maintenance!
Lucky me! I got the Green Works electric chainsaw that I requested for my birthday! Unfortunately, it is a dud! I am hopeful that Green Works will workout some sort of compensation for my disappointment because I truly am bummed about this saw...if it indeed is as good as the reviews I will also give it a thumbs up.
I live in a development with one acre lots. This is my first chainsaw but have borrowed others. I didn't want to mix fuel and mess with pull starts so I went with the cordless. I have maple, ginkgo, black walnut and pine trees in my yard along with numerous shrubs and smaller trees. I used the saw right out of the box after adding Bar and Chain oil. After making easy work of a small tree I had to tighten the chain. This is done easily with the adjuster screw. I then began to trim all the above mentioned trees. Easy to use chainsaw for even a beginner. The chain didn't need any more adjustments after the first. It's light weight and not loud at all. Just be sure to read owners manual before using. I would recommend getting the bar and chain oil before you bring the saw home. Any bar and chain oil will do. It's easy to take apart, reassemble and clean.
I bought this to use as a light duty saw as I have a couple gas saws for larger work. My saws I like to do regular maintenance on and keep clean. One of the two studs that hold the blade on just spins. Doesn’t obviously an important part to operate in a safe manner. Not a good spot to skimp on quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
