Overall very good. My only concern is the duration of the battery. I thought it would last longer, however I was cutting through some gnarley branches and tree trunks. I like that it starts instantly and no gas needed. Good balance too.

Design needs some work

Received this saw, 16" 60 volts@2aHr, as a Christmas present in 2019. I was skeptical about using a battery powered device but it was a gift. I didn't get the opportunity to use it until the fall of 2020 and I was pleasantly surprised by the saw's performance. It cuts well and has adequate performance for a small saw, as good as my smaller gas powered saws. However, the chain bar bends easily and then takes a "set" causing crooked cutting. Also, the chain bar seems to wear quickly. I suggest the bar be looked at from a material standpoint, possibly a different steel alloy with a little more spring in the material. I have used the saw for about 10 battery charges and now I have to try and straighten the bar.

It’s surprising how easy it is to start. Runs like nobodies business and really gets the job done. I really like the fact that when you stop, the blade stops instantly. I have a spare battery, now all I need is a spare chain. Awesome little chainsaw!

I bought this chainsaw as my first battery powered saw, mostly because I was tired of trying to keep my gas chainsaws running. Never going back to gas! I highly recommend the 60v 18” saw, it’s really a great tool.

Bought this saw because I have other greenworks 60V products that have impressed me and I already have batteries to boot .Plus my gas one needed to be serviced again. Works better than I expected and so easy to use. Don't need to have it idling between cuts either, just pull the trigger and go . Plenty of power and it never bowed down except when getting pinched which is normal on any chain saw. I have owned some top end gas chainsaws over the years and don't plain on going back. I use a a greenworks 4.0 battery and it barely used any of it upon a half day of work. Based on 3 days of steady use.

Workhorse

We purchased this in summer and it has proven to be a wise choice. Given the extreme fire danger this year (2020) and our proximity to a large wildfire, there was no using any gasoline powered tool for much of the summer and fall. Light, easy, and a workhorse, it made it possible to get our firewood in on days the smoke wasn’t too bad, even though the fire danger was high. We were a bit skeptical it would handle our black and white oak, but it actually outperformed our comparable sized gas powered chainsaw!
We’ve used it a lot already and it has stood up to our needs. Great tool.
