It's a sorry excuse for a chainsaw even on small branches.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Most every chainsaw on the market are powered by two cycle engines that mix gas and oil. Two cycle engines are notoriously bad for so many reasons. They are hard to start. They are hard to keep running. The produce noxious fumes and pollute the air. In fact, they emit more smoke, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and particulate matter than the gas-only four-stroke engines. Oh, and they require muffs to protect your ears from the high intensity sound they produce.
Electric chainsaws require only a battery and bar oil to keep the chain lubricated.
You may think that electric saws will not have the power that the gas powered saws have. Or that they will consume the batteries power after only a few cuts. But you would be wrong. This 60V saw will make short work of tree limbs and branches and easily cut through larger pieces as well.
After a windstorm did significant damage to a trees in my yard, I was able to clean up the entire mess with this saw without even using all of the charge in an older 2.5 Ah battery.
The saw felt much safer to operate than my old 2-cycle saw and I was suprised to see it had all the power as well. I struggle to comprehend why anyone would want to use a gas chainsaw after using one of these.
Saw cut nicely. Almost as noisy as a gas chain saw- I had to wear ear protection. Also saw was a bit too heavy with a 4 AH battery. Had about 20 minutes cutting time with 4 AH battery. Only had saw for a couple of weeks and one real cutting session. Hope it holds up. Way more convenient than a gas chain saw but not quite as powerful as equivalent 16" gas chain saw as it did " bog down " from time-to-time.

I am a bit disappointed. I also have the previous model 60v 16in bar, which I find to be more powerful than the new model.

Not the greatest but not bad

Chain popped off during the first use. When the chain came off it ate into a piece of metal that is directly under where the bar attaches. Not a great design choice as the chain was so beat up afterward that it needed to be replaced and that metal bit was nearly chewed off as well. The machine itself runs fairly well and has a good amount of power but it's definitely not designed as well as it could have been. I'm just glad I didn't pay full price.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quiet, Environmentally Safe, Powerful

Hello Gunn,
Thank you for the feedback! Sorry to hear that the unit is performing to your expectations. Chains stretch with use. When new, they stretch more. The tension on a new or newish chain should be checked and tightened every 20 minutes of cutting or so, it can get away from you fast. This is normal stretching. We would like to hear more of your experience and provide an instructional guide to help you navigate the tension on your Greenworks Chainsaw, if you are willing please contact us directly through chatbot on www.greenworkstools.com that will direct you to a live agent or call us at Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. We look forward to speaking to you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love not to have to be dealing with a gas chainsaw anymore, the convenience and performance of this product is excellent. I actually bought two of these in the same time just so I can have two batteries. And now I just received my 60v string trimmer and leaf blower, so now I have 3 batteries for all this tools.
