Chews through branches and limbs handily, and the charge of a 4 Ah battery lasts a good, long while. I didn't experience any kick back while using this tool, though the chain did stop now and when pinched by supported wood as I cut through it. That, however, comes down more to my use than a knock against the tool. Cutting through a 20" diameter tree wasn't a problem for it, but the stock chain it came with definitely needed sharpening partway through. Consider picking up a chain for it, and some chain oil as well—it comes with some, but certainly not enough to fill the tank. It's surprisingly quiet, too! Is it a whisper? No, by no means. You'll still want to wear hearing protection, too. But you won't be waking up people in the house when you're using it out in the yard. That's enough for me.

After using this chainsaw as a handy, easy to use pruning aid around the yard I was finally task with a real job for it. A 40 foot oak was threatening a structure and I thought about pulling out the 2 stroke 22" but instead decided to take this one up in the lift. It not only cut all of the trimming aspects but also made easy work of the large branches we had to cut and it topped out the tree without a hitch. Back on the ground Iwas able to cut the majority of the downed tree into manageable pieces before changing the battery for the first and only time during the cleanup. Adjusted the chain once and the oiler works great. Bonus, the oiler doesn't seep oil like my other chain saw always do.

I am very happy with this chainsaw! Powerful and quiet, it gets the job done! I cut down a citrus tree, overgrown and impending other trees. I did not even need the full battery charge to down the tree, remove the branches and segment the trunk for easy moving of the trunk

Bought the Gen2 60v chainsaw on 1/2/20 after reading reviews and online research for about a month. I finally got tired of my heavy duty gas chainsaw not working when I needed it to from sitting up for most of the year.
1/3/20 I put it to the test with a large 10" oak limb that had fallen in a friend's yard and chopped it up without any issues on a cold and wet day, then went home and trimmed up my crapmyrtles and a holly tree in my flowerbed. I had a total of about 30 minutes of run time and 1 bar left on the battery. Overall I was throughly impressed with it and look forward to using it a bit more here soon down at my deer lease cutting a few new trails.
For the average homeowner who cuts a couple trees a year for firewood or some fallen limbs every year, this chainsaw is the way to go!
I wish I had the 1st gen 60v chainsaw just so I could really compare the difference between them to see the improvements in this newer model.

Had for about 2 years, bought 2nd battery. Use one have one charging. I have a bad shoulder and I'm fed up with the aggravation of starting a gas chainsaw. Hate trying to start them on the ground or in a tree. This one is for me!!!!

Beats a gas saw any day

I bought this saw (after owning a Greenworks pole saw) to replace my 16" gas saw. After charging out of the box I cut down 10 trees of 6-8 inch diameter including a 12" hemlock. I then limbed and cut up all that I had cut down and had plenty of battery charge left. I ran out of energy long before this saw did. This saw has awesome power and long cutting time. This saw is better than my gas saw and I won't waste time with a gas saw again. Well worth every penny paid.

Just took the saw out of the box, added some chain bar oil, stuck in a battery and started cutting wood. The chain was sharp and the saw is much lighter than a gas powered one. This is the first chainsaw my wife has ever used because it’s quiet, light, and the chain stops as soon as you let off the trigger.
