Great Chainsaw for the Homeowner

I fell quite a few trees for paper wood and lumber and have used many gas powered chainsaws in the past. I bought this Greenworks Chainsaw over two years ago to clear storm damage and felled over 12 20+ foot trees behind the fence. After the cleanup I put this chainsaw the shelf where it sat for over a year unused.
On a whim I felled a 40+ ft 15in diameter tree last weekend in my front yard in order to save my driveway from lifting. All I did was add chain oil and slapped in a battery and went to town. Try using a gas chainsaw after just a few months of no use.
I recommend this chainsaw for any homeowner that has trees or for after storm cleanup. It has a great solid feel and is well balanced for a long day of use. The power is quite surprising.

I bought this chainsaw a few months ago and my property hasn’t looked this great in a very long time. My husband used to do all the chainsaw work on our 15 acres. He passed away and I was scared to use the gas powered saws. My brother recommended Greenworks and I’m so glad he did. I’m a 65 year old woman and I’m 5’2” tall and I manage this saw easily. I have told all my friends they need this chainsaw.

Love my battery-powered chainsaw!

I love my Greenworks chainsaw. It cuts great, starts every time, and shuts off completely as soon as I take my finger off the trigger. I've now used it multiple days of working on fallen dead ash and cherry and it feels safer and far more reliable than my gas-powered chainsaw. I have both a 2.5A and a 4.0A 60V battery and I can do a surprising number of cuts before switching, and then the first battery re-charges while I'm working with the second one and taking a lunch break. For my homeowner usage, this is perfect. I don't have to deal with gas and oil, it starts every time at a touch, and I feel great that I'm recharging the batteries from my solar panels!

Didn’t think it would do the job or not as good as my gas husky. As far as I’m concerned now, out performed gas in every way. No mixing or mess, ran flawlessly. Chunked out the whole tree plus cut up most all branches etc on one battery. I’m using the newer 60 v system since I already had it for the mower, blower, hedge trimmer, string trimmer, all work good except, the string trimmer doesn’t feed as easily as it’s supposed to, but neither did any of my old units. Anyhow, the chain saw worked great, definitely recommend!

Better then Gas!

Bought this saw a few months ago. I have purchased severa electric yard tools over the years but decided to go all out with Greenworks. Wow! Awesome products, service and price! The saw is worth every penny. Have been clearing trees on our farm all spring. This tool has POWER! Cutting hard wood like butter. No worrying about mixing gas. Just slap a new battery in. Depending on battery size, it will be more then enough to get the job done. If not the chargers work super fast and will keep you working through the day without downtime. The clear bar oil window helps make sure I keep the chain oiled, which is the only maintenance other then the chain. Best part is the chain tensioner. Super easy to use and also comes with the multi tool, which stores on the handle for when you need it. Absolutely recommend the product and Greenworks. I have the 60v snowblower, saw, trimmer, leaf blower, mower and pole saw. Batteries are all interchangeable if the same voltage! Just buy it already!

I had an older version of this 60v chainsaw, and it cut like a monster. I almost used it more than my professional forestry saw. Unfortunately I cracked the chain lube reservoir tank, and had to buy this new version. The new version of this chainsaw is so weak I couldnt even cut a white pine 2x4 without the shutoff kicking in. Seriously unacceptably low quality. I do like how the battery is now sideways and pops out easier. Other than that, the new saw was junk. Sending it back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
