Seems to do the job well. Chain needs to be more loose than I would expect. If it’s even a little too tight it doesn’t run. Otherwise works well

I've had this saw for about a year, but it only worked for about the first month. When you tighten the chain it won't turn it. When you loosen the chain to the point it will turn, it is too loose and become spring from the bar. It is all so very frustrating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello B Laubs,
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied with your recent purchase. Chains stretch with use. When new, they stretch more. The tension on a new or newish chain should be checked and tightened every 20 minutes of cutting or so, it can get away from you fast. However, be sure to never tension a warm chain before storing as chains shrink when cooling and this can damage the chain, bar and saw. Please ensure that when you remove the side cover that the following parts are there and in order: sprocket (chain wheel), chain wheel washer and finally the c-lip. These parts are imperative when it comes to keeping the chain on. If you still are experiencing issues with the chain, we would be happy to see how we can help! Please contact Greenworks contact Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934.

Compared to a smaller Ryobi electric chainsaw, this one is a pleasure to use. I was worried about the extra weight from the 60W battery itself, but its position between the two handles kept the tool balanced and comfortable. The easy-to-use chain brake and clear, quick access to adjust the chain tension are two safety features I appreciate. The bucking spikes are very helpful to keep the log from spinning when you first cut into it- didn't have those on my Ryobi.
I have another Greenworks tool with a plastic handle that snapped off a month after we bought it, and any of these electric tools now are going to have a bunch of plastic housing parts, so I am worried about durability there. The bar oil tank on this chainsaw has an opaque window to check the level, but I couldn't see through it enough, had to open it to check the level.
Overall, a great tool with plenty of power to get the job done efficiently.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Powerful
