Battery lasts long enough for cutting down and processing a small-medium sized tree. The chainsaw itself works great. Gets bogged down a bit more than a gas one, but if you take your time and dont try to force it, then it works pretty well.

Perfect Saw for Small Jobs

Just received the chainsaw, 2.5ah battery and charger. Love the saw but the 2.5ah battery really limits the amount of work you can get done. Would have preferred that a 4 or 5ah battery came with the saw to make it far more useful for a longer period of time. I know the higher ah battery would cost more but it would be worth the extra cost given how quickly the 2.5ah battery runs out of juice.

This is my second GW chainsaw. We use the 40V at our mountain hut and wanted the bigger 60V for our main home. I do recommend shelling out for a 5Ah battery if you want to do larger jobs.
Just felled 6 trees ranging from 10 inches to 14 inches in our driveway. Then proceeded to cut them all up in 2 ft chunks. I estimate i got about 60 cute on the 2.5 Ah battery and still had some power left. With my 5Ah battery I'll be doubling that easily.
I love that i can store this thing for months and not worry about it not starting. Nor having to attempt to start it in the cold. Also, i appreciate the silence of operation and the utter lack of fumes and gasoline smell on me.
It packs huge torque.

Powerful and quite. Charged the battery and started cutting. First tree was a 6” redbud, the saw had no problem cutting through it and cutting it up. Best part, no messing with gas/oil mix or having to pull start.
