Easy to use and cuts beautifully and smoothly. It it so much nicer than our old gas chainsaw. It is also quieter. I would definitrly recommend this product. We also have the lawn mower, leaf blower and trimmer.

Do not tighten the oil cap!

I loved this chainsaw until I didn't. The oil reservoir split at the neck where the two sides were formed together. It now leaks very badly. The more you tighten, the wider that split gets. I can slow it down to a slow drip by screwing in the cap just until I feel it meeting the neck

Works well, leaks oil everywhere

This saw works well, easy to maintain, I love all my Greenworks tools. However one flaw- you can't leave oil in the reservoir or it leaks everywhere. No matter which way I store it it leaves oil all over the place. I rang to enquire and was told basically just to add enough oil for the job I'm doing. Not ideal.
Pros: Convenient, Easy to Use, Environmentally Safe, Powerful

Hello Riley76
Thank you for taking the time to voice your concern! When experiencing leaking, try loosening the oil cap to release any vacuum that may have built up, as it can hold the pump open slightly, causing oil to flow past. However, we do advise that if you are storing your unit for a period of time to empty out the oil reservoir. We also recommend wiping down the chainsaw after use, as this will reduce oils that are left on the bar and chain from pooling. If these suggestions do not resolve the issue you are experiencing, please contact us directly through chatbot on www.greenworkstools.com that will direct you to a live agent or call us on Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. We would like the opportunity to speak with you to see if we can find a solution.

Good saw but auto oiler does not work effectively..Tried 30.weight not bar oil still no luck
Response from greenworkstools.comBy Greenworks, December 7, 2023
Hello Big corn,
Sorry to hear of the issue you are experiencing with this chainsaw. The oil reservoir has a sponge inside as a filter. Make sure to only use bar and chain oil. Check the cap to make sure the hole inside the cap is clear (if applicable). Try loosening the cap to loosen pressure and screw it back on. Run the unit 1-2 minutes before each use. We hope this information has helped. Should you have any further questions or warranty needs, please contact us directly through chatbot on www.greenworkstools.com that will direct you to a live agent or call us on Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. We would like the opportunity to speak with you to see if we can find a solution.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little thing works great. We had a storm roll through and left behind some broken tree limbs. We were able to chop them up to haul away pretty quickly. Really like that we didn’t have to drive to town to get gas for it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a powerful saw. I use in conjunction with a large gas saw to cut up large trees. It’s quiet, quick, and easy to use. Best part, no gas, no pull cord, just pull the trigger and you are ready to cut.

Cuts 1 month of firewood on dual battery charge
on April 24, 2024

I've used mine a few years now, and know it pretty well. In most sessions I use both 4 Ah batteries fully, and in doing so get about a month of firewood, cutting a cross section of wood measuring about two square meters, or a stack about 8 feet long and 40 inches high (roughly 30% of a cord). I sharpen the chain (manual file of correct size) and refill the oil between each full-charge (two battery) session, and charge the batteries 70% after use, then top off before the next use. Has held up with no obvious loss for five years (8 cords) of wood. Take care of it, and it will take care of you. Recommend extra bar/chain to free up pinched/stuck bar. Also mill lumber using jig that rides along 2x6; should get rip blade to cut more efficiently in this mode...

Exceeds my expectation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical that a battery chainsaw works on larger logs, so I bought the 16”, 60 V battery chainsaw at a local retailer because of the discount. I have never used the chainsaw before, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it exceeded my expectations. I have made under 100 cuts, up to 14 inches in diameter without any problems. For my use, I would use battery operated over fuel saws Because they’re easy to operate and are not stinky. They also make very little noise where I would not read hearing protection. I love How easy it is to use.
