The saw runs good. It will do what you want it to do. The only draw back is the battery. If you run the saw hard, the 2.5 Amh bat does not last that long. Took 3 stop and charges to cut up a 25' black Walnut tree. That's why I'm giving this product only 4 stars. Nothing wrong with the machine only battery consumption.
If you plan on using this saw heavy have 2 batteries.
Not sure why they don't sell them with a standard 2 batteries?

Chainsaw has more power than you would think. The 2 ah battery lasts ok but my lawnmower battery is 5ah and easily can finish any job

Love my Greenworks tools but had a serious challenge with the chainsaw out of the box. I took my time, reviewed the manual, put chain oil in, and charged the battery. The chain was tensioned well to start. On my second SMALL 2" limb cut to try out my new tool the chain jumped off the bar. I found the two bar nuts just finger tight at best. I hadn't touched them out of the box. Many of the lugs where the chain goes into the slot in the bar had been damaged by the drive gear in the fraction of a second where it jumped the bar and the saw stopped so it wouldn't go back in the slot. After grinding many damaged lugs with my Dremel I got it back on but it jumped out a second time (assume the damage wasn't cleaned well enough). Following another 1/2 hour of grinding the saw now works but was almost returned to you. More attention to tightening those bolts is needed prior to sale. That said, it's nice to make a cut, set the tool down, and pick i up again not wondering whether it'll start again. I do, however check chain tension VERY frequently now. Hope the chain holds up after my needed repairs.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The saw works very well. It is comparable with a gas powered machine, even better. But the battery is severely underpowered. It allows for only 10 minutes runtime. That is not enough and limits what can be done. Further after 10 minute work the battery is too hot to be charged (wait time 30 minutes+ charging time). Why is Greenworks jeopardizing their success by selling these products with the lowest end batteries? Why is it not sold with a 5 AH ?

Hello FLOR,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us! Our Designers and Product Developers will occasionally read these review, so we really appreciate it when customers tell us what they think and share their experience. This tool can be used with all Greenworks 60V battery models (with the exception of the 8Ah battery) it's worth noting, with a larger-sized battery, you may notice the saw is not as balanced as it would be with a 2.0AH or 2.5Ah battery model. I used my chain saw for the first time this past Tuesday and boy was I surprised. After using a Sthil saw picking up 60v Greenworks was a pleasure! The torc on my 60v when I pressed the trigger left no doubt about who was ready for some work and work it did. I would not hesitate to buy one! I’ve got my eye on the Greenworks 60v lawnmower now. Hmm I wonder if ——
