Saw cut nicely. Almost as noisy as a gas chain saw- I had to wear ear protection. Also saw was a bit too heavy with a 4 AH battery. Had about 20 minutes cutting time with 4 AH battery. Only had saw for a couple of weeks and one real cutting session. Hope it holds up. Way more convenient than a gas chain saw but not quite as powerful as equivalent 16" gas chain saw as it did " bog down " from time-to-time.

Very useful tool

I bought this saw a year ago to maintain trails on a heavily wooded 25-acre property in NW Minnesota. It has performed very well cutting standing trees and deadfall up to about 12" diameter or occasionally a little bigger and including hardwoods and pine. It's lightweight, quiet, starts easily, and shuts down immediately when binding occurs during a cut. One charge usually outlasts my will to saw: about an hour of steady work. I also have a GW 60-volt string trimmer for about 3 years and I've been happy with that tool as well.

Hello JM Johnston,
Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble keeping the chain secure. Chains should always be tensioned before use. Be sure to check intermittently throughout each chore to make sure the chain is kept properly tensioned. A correctly tensioned chain should only pull away from the bar enough to fit a dime (10c) between the teeth and the bar. Do not tension a chain after you have finished using the tool. The hot metal expands; if the chain is tensioned when hot, then allowed to cool, the contracting metal could potentially damage the chain, the bar, and even the unit. Always wait until the next use (or at least until cooled) before tensioning.
We hope this information helps! If the issues persist, please give us a call at 1-888-909-6757 or submit an email at info@greenworkstools.com. We would be happy to look into other factors.

Product was defective. Had to return it. Customer service was awesome, though. Please note, I have purchased two more chainsaws from green Works and both of those turned out to be defective as well. Those were 80 V pros.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love not to have to be dealing with a gas chainsaw anymore, the convenience and performance of this product is excellent. I actually bought two of these in the same time just so I can have two batteries. And now I just received my 60v string trimmer and leaf blower, so now I have 3 batteries for all this tools.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Too wet to use at this time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't had the time to use my chainsaw, yet. It has been too wet to try and use just yet. I do like the fact that I don't have to pull on starter rope. That makes it easier for a 69 yr. old man to use.
