Tensioning problems caused frustration

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this unit for pruning of small tree branches. I was quite disappointed at how the chain quickly dulled ( or failed to cut). However the more significant problem was tensioning. After about 20 seconds of use, the chain was loose. When trying to use the adjustment knob, it would lock up after a few clicks. Then I would have to unscrew it, reset the chain/bar assembly, and tension it. After another minute, I had the same problem and had to redo the whole process. My cheap 4" hand chainsaw was outperforming this one. I was sadly disappointed.
Pros: Cost-Saver, Quiet
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

For your Greenworks 24V 10" Cordless Chainsaw, the adjustment knob can lock up if the side cover locking knob is not loosened enough or if debris is preventing the tensioner from moving freely. To fix this, make sure the outer locking knob is loose before adjusting, and clean the bar groove, tensioner screw, and sprocket area. Applying a little oil can help prevent future sticking.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i received this product, charged the battery and was eager to try it out. It worked for about 10 seconds and stopped and would not start again, Very disappointed with the product. Will try again tomorrow to see if it works.

If your 24V 6" Pruner Saw runs but does not cut properly, or stops after a few seconds, it is likely entering protection mode to prevent damage. Simply release the trigger and restart the tool. Be sure the chain is tensioned correctly, kept sharp, and let the saw do the work without forcing it. If after attempting the troubleshooting tip and, the problem persists. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this combo product and it worked great. Trimmed 6” branches with ease. The chain did come off but was able to put it back on with ease. Just remember, the chain go in one direction. It is a little heave but the steaks help a lot. The hedge trimmer worked great as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been pretty happy with the chainsaw but it's tensioner mechanism is weak. Whatever component is supposed to keep the chain tight doesn't work anymore. I found a replacement for almost half the price of the saw. I'll probably try to find a more reliable tool. I bought it to use the same battery as my pole saw. I'm quite happy with it. This one is a bit of a disappointment.
Pros: Convenient, Easy to Use
