Greenworks site easy to navigate, find what you need. Cordless snow shovel works great really saves my back. There are many spots where i cannot use a snow blower so this takes out all the heavy lifting. Also bought a 2nd battery so i always have enough power. Researched cordless shovels and I believe Greenworks are the best.

Not that great

I agree with Taku from Philadelphia. The 40v starts for a few mins then stops. I have to take the battery out and put it back in to have it start/stop again. Maybe it doesn't like the northeast cold. As for the work it does, purchase only if you normally get 1-2" of fluffy snow and use it to clear a small deck or walkway. And it is heavy and awkward to use. Stick with a regular shovel.

Hello Alba,
We appreciate you proving this feedback on your Snow shovel We are sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied with this unit’s weight. With the 4.0AH battery installed, this unit weighs approx.18 lbs. in total. Adjusting the handle can provide a better balance, this will help evenly distribute the weight between the battery and the base and should hopefully assist in a more enjoyable user experience. We would want to make sure you are keeping the batteries and charger indoors, except for when the batteries are on the machine to clear snow. The cold temperature can affect their performance. Please also check that there is no moisture on the leads of the battery pack. We strive to provide a quality product and a great customer service encounter please contact us at your earliest convenience to see how we can help. We can be reached at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my snow shovel for some time and as I am in North Texas where we seldom experience snow I do not wish to expend a lot of money on snow removal so this is my choice which works great for this 88 year old widower and USAF veteran.

Could be great, but just really good.

This really could be a great tool, but underachieves in a couple areas. The lack of a chute to direct the flying snow changes the entire game for this shovel. The snow shoots straight out which covers any area that you just cleaned. So, basically this makes you do a lot of carrying to avoid that. Imagine shoveling the walkway to your front door... you have to blow toward the street and repeatedly carry it back to tour starting point to avoid blowing snow on your house. This gets pretty cumbersome. The same with a driveway. Without a chute to direct right or left, I have to do several areas more than once. Another improvement that needs to be made is the power switch. You should be able to lock the power on throughout shoveling. The fact that you have to continuously hold the power switch in the on position is a real pain. Literally. Cramped fingers, and I have to constantly changing hands. I would love to see these upgrades to this shovel. It has the potential to really be great. Greenworks, you can place me at the top of your list to test drive a new model!

Hello Donna in PA,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your recent purchase. The 12-inch Snow Shovel is an excellent machine for clearing steps and patios of snow. We would not recommend this machine for anyone looking to clear deep snowfall, especially on the driveway. This tool is not equipped with a chute, the snow is thrown in the direction you have your unit pointed. We suggest directing the snow in front or to either side by pushing the snow shovel forward so that it rides on the scraper and taking shorter strokes that do not force the impeller. Our Designers and Product Developers will occasionally read these reviews, so we really appreciate it when customers tell us what they think and share their experience with us. Way too heavy for replacement for a snow shovel

I received this product as a gift and had the opportunity to try it today with about 2" of snow on my trex deck and concrete walkway. I received it as I am 75 years old and have an arm disability which makes a conventional shovel difficult. The weight of this machine is excessive and pushing it especially on concrete is quite a job. It definitely needs some adjustable way of directing the snow to the side as it tends to frequently fly in ones face depending on wind direction. Have to carry it back to starting point usually if doing multiple passes to avoid throwing snow back on cleared area. A lot of weight and walking on slippery walkways. I find the old fashioned shovel a lot easier than this unwieldy unit and will not be using it again.

Hello Ray96,
Thank you for your review. It is unfortunate to read that you are not overly satisfied with this product. The unit may require some upper body strength and depending on the condition of the snow it can get more difficult to maneuver. Try only clearing one-third of the width of the unit to lighten to load acting against it. This will help with the load acting against the unit and should hopefully assist in a more enjoyable user experience. Most Snow Shoves are not equipped with a chute, they are a light duty electric snow shovel for walkways, driveways and patios. We do suggest noting, the wind directions, if possible; and move in the same direction as the wind so that the snow is not pushed towards the wind. Directing the snow in front or to either side by pushing the snow shovel forward so that it rides on the scraper. Lastly, adjusting the handle can provide a better balance between the battery and the base. To adjust the balance of the unit, loosen the screws to move the auxiliary handle up and down the shaft till you are comfortable. We would like to take a closer look at what you are experiencing if you are willing please contact us at 888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this tool due to the fact that my back has been giving me trouble and shoveling snow was out of the question. I have to say this is one of the best inventions I have ever seen! The shovel is quiet and throws the snow off our deck with ease. Even the heavier snow seems no problem. The 4 amp battery has long life as well. The only thing that I see would be a good change is to put the release of battery on the side so you can grip it while taking it off the tool. Seems to me that is difficult to do. But what a great tool!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just recently got this snow shovel and then just two days later it snowed like 18 inches! It worked great...although it took a little practice to get into a rhythm. But we are glad we have it because it's suppose to be a snowy winter this year!

Easy to use, fun, not too loud

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this expecting it to be loud, heavy, and difficult to use. It was none of those! Out of the box it was simple to put together. Full charge took maybe 30-45 minutes and the battery lasts about 2 hours. Honestly, I have never used the battery all at once because i get too cold. It blows the snow several feet in front of you and is easy to manuever. I have not tried this product in deep snow, but in about an inch it's extremely easy to use, even in icy conditions. I have used it primarily on flat surfaces. Non-paved paths are trickier, but I think with enough snow it would work better. I wouldn't say it is lightweight, but it certainly isn't too heavy. I was expecting it to weigh about the same as a chainsaw and it is slightly lighter, but far easier to hold and use. It's not overly loud to bother the neighbors either. I wouldn't recommend using it at 4:00 in the morning, but its far quieter than a lawnmower so normal hours should be fine. I highly recommend this product!
