A great social / messaging phone

I got this phone for the full keyboard. Its really a great messaging phone. There's a dedicated key for a lot of messaging features. Plus the built in Facebook interface is great to have. You don't have to spend extra money on a data plan to post to your page. Plus there's an infared camera...! The calendar/scheduler is a 4 out of 5. It could use a little refining but it gets the job done. The music player is good and the speaker is nice and loud. It really is packed full of features. My only criticism is that the screen could be a little brighter.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Awful

This phone is supposed to be an upgrade from its predecessor. Its the opposite. To start with, the "locked" feature was changed. The phone must be unlocked even to answer (or ignore) a phone call. Which means that call you might have answered on the last ring, goes un answered. This lock feature takes twice as long to unlock as any other cell phone lock I have encountered, which means precious seconds pass when being fast with your phone counts. But perhaps this is better at keeping "butt dialing" to a minimum? No. I have pocket dialed more times with this phone than any other I have owned. Which always baffles me when the phone lockes me out of a text conversation. If I send a text, and the reply takes more than three seconds to come in, I am forced to unlock the phone. The QWERTY board has been shuffled around from its predecessor into a less comfortable layout. The QWERTY keys are poorly balanced making compressing them down far enough to register, challenging and hard on the hands. If a nice background or ringtone are desired they cant be found on the phone. There are only 9 pictures found when the phone is activated. I distinctly remember thinking "What? thats it? thats so lame, these aren't even good pictures! Isnt this supposed to be the upgrade from the last one?" (which had lots more pictures and ringtones to choose from.)
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

Worse Phone I have ever Had
on March 12, 2011

My wife and I have both have had this phone for 6 months+. We both think it's the worst phone we have ever had. Even when you lock the phone, it'll start doing things when you happen to touch your clip case against things like a seat belt or anything else that might come in contact with your case. When you actually try to unlock the phone, it's hard to press the middle of the menu button perfectly(the 2nd button in the unlock sequence). If you don't press it just right, you'll have to start over or it may popup with one of the options you have set for the different directions. You can choose the single button to unlock but it'll make calls in your purse or clip belt without you knowing it anytime it touches something. Can't wait till our contact is up!!!
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations, cant' change the unlock sequence, keys are too sensitive
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

CELL PHONE - Samsung Intensity II

I have had this phone for over four years, and it has performed remarkably. It is not a "Smart Phone", but the basic features make it an ideal choice for someone who only needs phone and text [plus a variety of provider apps - navigation, etc.). The slide out full keyboard is a plus.
You really can't go wrong with the Samsung quality and features.
A great little phone.
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

Couldn't Ask for More

I have had this phone for a month, and this is a great messaging phone. The batter seems to last forever (especially compared to my last phone), and it fits comfortably in your hand. The texture of the back of the phone is nice, and the phone is light-weight, too. The keyboard has a rubbery grip, making texting more enjoyable, though the "b," "n," and "m" are too far right. The buttons on the front are also close together and indented, which is convenient. The camera works fine. It even has night vision. Overall, I love having and using this phone; I'm completely satisfied.
Pros: Durable, Lightweight, easy to use in general
I would recommend this to a friend!
